Stolen Yacht on the Beach in Fort Lauderdale / Pulled Away at High Tide

A stolen yacht drifted aground on to Fort Lauderdale Beach on the morning after the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Witness state that the saw the yacht having engine trouble and then watched as two people with luggage boarded the yacht's tender and then come ashore and walk away. The yacht came aground at low tide so Sea-Tow spent a few hours preparing the yacht for recovery and gently moving it into position from parallel to the beach to perpendicular so it could be puled off the beach when the tide rose.

SeaTow does a good job. Pull it easy and work it off rather then rip the cleats off. Great Job to Zip Zap too, you managed to get some nice ladies in the picture, as well as the main event.

Stolen then beached. Its like smacking someone in the face, then kicking them in the balls after. It's a nicelooking old boat and hopefully she landed mostly on sand, and I hope she makes it back home and gets back with little damage as possible.

She is a 1975 and there is extensive damage, most can be fixed but some of the damage is still being assessed as to how extensive of a repair it’ll take.

@@perrooceaniko2005 She's an old Chris Craft Roamer. If she's a 1975, the hull is most likely aluminum. She didn't sink and can be repaired. What I don't understand is all the witnesses that watched them get off the boat WITH LUGGAGE , come ashore and walk away. This smells more like a phony insurance claim than a stolen boat! How many thieves have luggage with them and leave the stolen boat in broad daylight? This smells.

I work around a lot of these boats and you'd be surprised how many have the keys left in the ignition or in the compartment on the boat.

The owner didn’t leave the “keys” in the ignition, the couple who stole it posed as buyers and ended up stealing it.
