That is very cool to hear they worked for you on the west coast. I've had success with this pattern both with and without the egg. Don't be afraid to cut the egg off if you need a stonefly.

For salmon size 4?
@HolsingersFlyShop3 жыл бұрын
The largest I would go would be a size 8 on that hook, but that’s my opinion. I always tend to lean towards the small size.

People catch much larger fish on much smaller hooks. As long as the hook is stronger than your hook your good. Try to straighten the hook by tying to the hook and catch it on a nail or whatever. You'll be surprised how strong a size 12 hook is.

What would you think of this fly on a 10?
@HolsingersFlyShop3 жыл бұрын
For sure I would tie it on a size 10 if you like fishing bigger stone flies. The more I fish the smaller I tend to tie. But, that's me, you may prefer bigger style flies.

Howdy Sean, Question please ..... “ POINT - FLY “ ...... I hear this used on many tutorials. UK folks call the First Fly I believe the Point Fly. Others seem to call the last or dropper fly the Point Fly. What is the true meaning of a POINT FLY please ????? Thanks for the Primo Content . GOD Bless and Happy Labor Day Weekend, Brian ✨🎣💫🙏🏻
