even though I despise stone veneer i can at least admit that it looks magnificent and even that it's an acceptable if uncomfortable price to see paid so that stone masons remain employed, it only takes a generation without some works being continued before you utterly lose the experience a cohort of craftsmen holds in their domain and now have to relearn everything, the saturn V rocket certainly proved that.

tidy job, but you should use vertical lines on your corners, faster and sharper corners every time,

What type of stone do you prefer to work with ?? Beautiful work !!

Cheers! I do like this working this stone but to be totally honest I love a good mix of rubble! I think rubble walls look the best!

Us plebs watched you bash a perfectly good-looking stone with your hammer, wondering to ourselves 'Why is he doing that? It looks perfectly fine to me'. And then you set the stone in the corner saying, "Oh baby, you beauty!". And then us plebs realised just why we are watching and you are building! Stunning stonework Josh, congratulations! A 2 x glass day, or mug of hot chocolate?

how long does it take to build the stone house normally, impressive that your able stay focused

There’s loads of different factors which would determine time frame. Even though I post my videos weekly I’m only doing a couple of days a week on this project at the moment. But if I was full time for something like this it would be a couple of months or so I suppose.

Hi. Looks stunning. May I ask why the mortar mix is so dry? In my neck of the woods our team is the Springboks. Beautiful work as always. Shayne.
@J.HarveyStonework4 күн бұрын
Thanks Shayne. It’s looks dry as it’s quite gritty but then also I do like it firm but playable because of the width as I have a high risk of movement when I build up a section.

How long have you been doing stone work? How old are you? How’s your body holding up? Sick wall man.
@J.HarveyStoneworkКүн бұрын
Around 8 years I suppose but full time 6, I’m 30 and feel ok, as long as I keep stretching. I suppose you just have sacrifice your body to the stone 🤣

What rock do you build with in England. What stone is this. Thanks

That's not a stone house. It's a cement block house with stone facade.
