I remember that it used to be a time when the Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad train would pull to the left around the foot base of stone mountain. Now they've set it up to whereas the trains now pulls to the right, around the foot base of stone mountain.

Do you remember the train robbery show they use to do back in the day when the steam engine ran ? Those were the days .

@@CryMeARiver63 I remember it very well, I believe they stop it because it was frightening the young children on the train because they thought it was real.

At 2:43 that track is where two box cars sat and were converted into a restaurant. I grew up near here in the early 90's and got to ride on the train with full steam operation. The locomotive storage house was originally a jail, and I think right next to it was the quarry foreman's house. Got to take a ghost tour there several years. Can't remember what that building was at 10:11. I believe one of the gp's was scrapped during the locomotives restoration. The railroad sure has changed over the years.

How long is the ride, how much does it cost?
@shanewalters41713 жыл бұрын
The ride around the mountain is about half an hour long, I don't think you need to pay for the train ride because I believe it's included in the park's visiting fees. I highly recommend booking early and going for the scenic ride when you get the chance

What happened to the steam engines? They aren't on the property anymore.

I know at least one of them is at the Southeastern Railroad museum in Duluth.

H4NK 3V1L, the other one is at the Knoxville and Holston River Railroad’s shop. It is slowly being restored.

@@TNRailProductions_01 Is it cosmetic or.operational?
@TNRailProductions_013 жыл бұрын
@@shanewalters4171 at the time I’m replying to you, the engine in Knoxville, is not being worked on. The Railroad has intentions of restoring the locomotive to operation, but they are indeed a freight hauling railroad, so they have their priorities, if you know what I mean.
