If you or anyone that sees this text could help me finding cheap and good enough machines to cut-polish stones? Some names of producers\manufacturers. Some brands and\or models. Some links to products in Amazone or another. Some names and description of the machine so I can do my own research. In Europe or with delivery to Europe please. Whatever that can help me find a cheap but reliable machine so I can do some experiments and if I have what it takes. Thanks :)

Hi, My name is Maureen Chandler. Im nearly 73 yrs old. I just finished watching your video on how to use a microscope . I got one for Christmas. I finally got some nice tools. rolling mill. and SR foreman. runs like a dream. next to my dremel that I been using. I dont know if you'll see these as its about 3 yrs sinse you did this video. cant wait to try working with burrs and stone setting. you make it look so easy and Im sure it is not. Today is sat. right after christmas and I have to tell you Blaine. Im so sorry to hear of the bombing in Tennessee . I live in Colorado mountains and I have been watching the news. I send my love and good wishes to all of you there. thanks for your videos. I will keep looking for them. Maureen.

I jumped when you cut that first prong off! I really did. Have you ever broken a stone when moving a difficult prong? I do not make jewelry, but find this all so fascinating. Especially since I just got my first microscope. I was going to use it for just looking at things I found around the house, in the yard, plants, etc. And then I thought about my jewelry. I have one real diamond, a ring... and I compared it to some CZ's I have, and some lab created diamonds. Couldn't believe what i was seeing!!! Now I am so interested in how jewelry is made. Having my own scope has opened my eyes. And so much of the work you and other jewelers do IS made under a high powered scope. It's such intricate, detailed work, and I am impressed!!

great video with lots of good info. Regarding removing broken drills. I use dividers to mark on the other side and drill from the back until you hit the broken bit, then using a broken fine burr that is shaped to a point and punch the drill out. . Not every one has tungsten burrs, I prefer the tungsten inverted cone to remove the broken bit as it cuts really well. to prevent the drill from jamming , listen to the noise and as soon as you hear a crunching sound of the flutes getting full of metal remove the drill to clear the swaff . Rotate the drill in circular motion that gives clearance around the drill and stops it from jamming. Another this is to sharpen the drill to a fine point that is able to stear the drill to where you want it, continue with the rotational movement and you can quickly drill though thick metal with ease.

Please can you , or anyone else , advise if any precautions are needed when adapting steel tools in your jewellery making area?
