If you look in his artist history, Ray, you'll find that this 'softer' part of him is the essential one in his music career: he actually found Stone Sour in 1992(!). Then he joined Slipknot as the 6th member of the band and his first gig with them is in 1997(!). Therefore he quits temporarily the project Stone Sour to be fully devoted to his work in Slipknot. ... but only to restart the project in 2002 and then the debut album is released, which is self titled Stone Sour.

I love Corey's voice. He's amazing. Now I looked through your past reactions and I see many hard rock/metal videos. But I don't see BAND-MAID. They're an all female Japanese hard rock band. The old Stone Sour songs. From before his time with Slipknot. I love those songs. His voice is so different. he is finding his own place in music. He writes with his feelings and emotion of his younger self. The 1994 demos are insanely good. Some of my favorites. Stone Sour "I Can't Believe" 1994 Demo Stone Sour "Simple Woman" 1994 Demo Stone Sour Imperfect is also an amazing song. Love the lyrics. And I am a bit connected to it. For some reason I heard this song later on. But my first tattoo has the world Perfectly Imperfect written into it. So this song.. Well its well written.

Correct, stone sour was first before Slipknot and Corey isn't the original singer of Slipknot. The first album is called Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.

This song makes me so sad. It was the song that was playing after having to euthanize oir dog. We took her to the emergency room the night before. The vet called us in the morning and told us now would be a good time to see her again... for the last time. They had her in an oxygen chamber (she couldn't get enough oxygen). I remember sitting next to the chamber looking at her, but not being able to touch her because she was behind glass. 😢

Corey Taylor said that he wrote 'Through glass' while on tour w/ Slipknot, watching MTV Europe on TV in his hotel room... He said the channel (at the time) was Worse than MTV America w/ just a handful of 'celebrity' singers having their videos on rotation... It was just frustrating for Corey watching horrible music being promoted on TV... which is where the inspiration for the lyrics came from. He was describing the artists of the day as just crappy music accompanied by even worse visuals...
