I only started playing bass about 6 months ago and attempted it haha it's obviously way beyond my skill level at this point (especially the chorus) it took me about 9 days to get to the point where I could at least get it right most of the time but I feel like it made me better ...it forces you to use all of your fingers

I do not have a good ear. I taught myself to play in the 90’s by listening and copying. While I got real close there are some major differences in what I thought I heard and have been playing parts wrong for 20 years. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m going to go back and learn my old favorites the right way. @@ruthelleneikenberry3912 The notes are all correct, just the positions and strings are radically different. I understand that some bassists prefer efficiency and not having to move their hand as much, but you lose a lot of expression by the original bassist when you condense the frets like that instead of sliding on the neck. The official STP published tabs have a lot more neck sliding and therefore note-bending and expression, at least IMO. For me it's not just about hitting the right notes, but also nailing the 'feel' of the song. YMMV.
