Restoration of the farmhouse continues at Brambletye Its now time to consolidate the stones around the new entrance . Steve and Lynn take great care in choosing the right stones to do this job, and for the two top corners . Steve explains how to splice and finish the Majella stone in order to cover the girders currently on show,. Lynn makes the bacon sandwiches and helps in with some of the work, Button has more sleep in our work area until the bacon comes along yummy.
Next stage is finishing the exterior pointing with the lime Mortar

You will then see the external wall blending in with the entrance and to the eye no one would know without the vlogs the work and time to achieve the result. Would it help to have a very long, thin masonry bit, and drill through the middle of the slices into the stone? It would then (hopefully) fracture along the drilled lines.

What is the mix you're using to place the stone, and why aren't you using lime mortar for that as well? Is the mix you're using the reason you're not wetting the stones? This is the first time I've watched your videos, so please excuse me being behind on details. Speaking of details, you do a great job explaining as you go.

its a kerakoll product from Germany it is lime motor but its a different from the one to the outside its much darker though its for sticking bits on to stone and metal and its gone nicely cant budge the stone....no need to use wet stones with it either...its all abit different in Italy due to the heat I am working in 40 c plus which is quite normal for builders here and they need different products that we may normally use in cooler countries, its also specified on my architects project supply list.
