thank you for posting this its nice to see it. I grew up in Elie and I dont think I would call the chain walk deadly. the most risk you'll encounter is maybe getting your feet wet if the tide is in when you do the walk. Having said that its well worth the little adventure and at the end when you climb to the top you can explore the old fortifications and gun battery.

@bobbazley5376 I'm a reasonably fit 40yo I've done bungee jumps and zip lining so I've developed a head for heights, would the chain walk be viable for me?

Some sections take a bit a energy but as long as your quite fit and healthy I'm sure you would ok to do it.

It's a lovely area to explore. I saw online that the chainwalk sometimes gets this title, tbh I was quite shocked. Easy enough to tackle but people have suffered death, fractured bones, sprains, that and many rescues when people get trapped by the tide. The the old fortifications and gun battery were also a good explore. Thanks!

@@Little_Sidhe yes I would say you’d be fine, as the main uploaded mentioned you just need to be aware of things like the tide as it changes some aspects of the walk to a walking on water situation !!

It was a great evening to do it on plus I treated myself to a beer on the beach afterwards as I watched the sunset

The exact number of deaths on the Elie Chain Walk is unknown but several people have died and or been seriously injured so I guess thats why it gets that title
