His band was so tight! I got to see Keith live in Lexington, Ky at the old Rhinestone Club right before he died. Impressive to say the least. Randy Hayes had already left the group and Lou Toomey was playing guitar by then.

Ralph Stanley told Keith one day he would be a super star and he knew Keith would move on from his bluegrass band soon Keith had that very rare singing talent you dont see much of today and he was playing in Youngstown in this taping He made The Way Love Goes from M Hager his own

,, do you people want to hear something really strange I've been listening to Keith with me for a while and fell madly in love with him his voice that is I don't know him personally but this is the strangest thing I was running across the videos and I needed something to keep me awake because I had to take some medicine at a certain time well anyway I thought about Keith with me if I listen to him I never go to sleep so I put him on on the video I found on KZbin and I seen it said he was in Lucasville Ohio I couldn't believe that he was in Lucasville and I thought that was a strange thing cuz that's where my family was from my aunt and my cousin still lived there my aunt is 98 years old now and then I seen the year 1987 and that's the year I was there too my grandmother died that year in 1987 it was in January of 1987 that she died and I was there then I've been living in Florida the last probably 30 years I grew up and was borned in Williamson West Virginia Mingo County that is for the habit of McCoys come in my family my grandmother moved to porch Miss from there and my aunt and my cousin with her well that was 30 or 40 years ago and my aunt and my cousin still live there and when my grandmother died I went back for the funeral we took her to West Virginia but I would stay at my aunt's house in Lucasville and 1987 It's a small world that is really strange to me how much I thought of Keith Whitney didn't even listen to him and 87 didn't know who he was that love him for a while now and I just thought that was the strangest thing that maybe you people want but I did God bless all of you

I love George Straight so don’t get me wrong.. but I think Keith Whitley owns “Nobody In His Right Mind Would Have Left Her ”. He should have been the one to record it. He also does Merle Justice on his songs. Is there anything Keith couldn’t sing and make it sound awesome?

Hay Day Tinker Terri I was actually thinking the same exact thing, he also did on the other hand by randy Travis and never missed a lick, he was just that good

Keith Whitley did record it, Straights version is a cover song.

BornToBeFamed I believe Keith only recorded the demo for “Nobody In His Right Mind” but didn’t actually put it on an album. If you know otherwise I would appreciate knowing which album. Thank you.

@@dabneyoffermein595 I thought it was well known. He'd been drinking since his bluegrass days in Kentucky when he was only in his teens. I've read that his label and producer knew about his drinking and did their best to keep him away from people he might start drinking with again -- I believe his road band was chosen for him, all straight-arrow types who wouldn't get wasted after the show. But all that did was make him a closet drinker, drinking alone, which is just as dangerous as being a social drinker, maybe more.
@dabneyoffermein5953 жыл бұрын
@@MrHmg55 holy cow, it didn't necessarily backfire because he kept finding ways to binge drink i would consider it. but lorrie couldn't even keep him from drinking anything up in the medicine chest ive just read. not sure what would have alcohol in it in the medicine chest though.

Does anyone know if this is Bruce Rutherford who played drums for Keith and now I think for Alan Jackson, singing on the second song misery loves company? At first I thought it may have been Randy Hayes, but the voice on this song sounds the same as the tenor Harmony Park heard with Keith on Don't Close Your Eyes. Very Soulful vocals!
