I know the Voorhees burger was more of a gimmick but it's actually pretty genius. All those holes made, help cook the meat in better. Though I'm quite curious what the Jason fingers would look like. Chicken Fingers that look like severed fingers or since they're boneless, the chicken and bread looking like mini machetes.

I actually like the body changing aspect, it kinda explains why Jason's look changed so much in the first four movies. So... this is a guilty pleasure for me, and I'm with you on Duke's backstory Brad, I have no idea why they decided to cut that.

The "what about the end of Jason Takes Manhattan turning him into a drowning child" scene can be reconciled as a hallucination (or vivid imagination) that only the main girl saw. The surviving guy didn't explicitly say that he saw a child.

This has to definitely be one of my top favorite Jason Goes to Hell reviews and your humor is fucking awesome. Cracked me up for sure. The only scene in this movie I really liked was the Freddy hand because that was the first time they really got together. Other than that, I'm not a fan of the movie or Adam Marcus at that. But Jason, just the character in general I'm a huge fan of.

I consider the paramount and newline films to be seperate from each other. The creator seems to agree. Sure, I didn't really like parts seven and eight, but I still find them a little entertaining. The Newline films are just hard to sit through. Although I will admit that Jason Goes To Hell has one thing going for it. It has the best death scenes in the whole franchise.

Well what happened with this film was New Line wanted the rights to do a Freddy vs Jason but in the mean time needed a Jason film. So Sean the director of the original said the guy could have the job if he found a way to take the Hockey Mask out of the film.Cause remember he directed the first film about a vengeful mother he never came up with Jason in a mask serial killer.He dosent like the franchise beyond his own film. So Adam Marcus the director wrote a script that ignored 8 an picked up after 7 about Jasons long lost brother Elias who gets Jasons body out of the lake after 7 an eats his heart taking his power. It would have shown flash backs about Jasons family in the occult along with Tommy Jarvis as the hero trying to kill Jasons brother. New Line refused to release a movie not featuring Jason an felt the script was to dark an removed from Friday. So it was re written to focus on Jason an the name Elias was given to the father. The film dosent ignore part 1-8 it simply dosent call back to part 8 because the ending was so stupid. The director was told to set the movie after how ever Jason came back after 8 because 8 was a flop an every one hated it.Its the same thing they did to Freddy after Dream Child flopped.Its not that 8 diddnt happen its just that nobody liked it so we skip over how he came back.

I love the Friday 13th t.v. series! It scared the shit out of me, all the time when I was a kid. When I got older, and saw the reruns. I found a new reason to love it. Robey, the Redhead girl of my dreams. She should have hit it big(er). She even had a song/music video, on MTV or MUCH MUSIC, here in Canada. The song was just a cover of 'One night in Bangkok' I'll leave any jokes, to the reader ;) Either way, it was Hot and popular for a week or so and then it fizzled out, like her career, later on :( Once you ger over the fact that there's no other connections to the movies., you can approach the show, on it's own merrits and you might even like it. Funny thing-Jason goes to Hell is honestly the only F13 film I've seen all of. I wanted to see it in theaters because I'd missed seeing Freddy's Dead in theaters, and I wanted to see what I figured would be the LAST Jason movie. Though seeing Freddy's glove pop out of the ground blew my mind-cue 20 minutes of me and my friends yelling at each others as to who would win.

I never knew this movie teased Freddy versus Jason, that's actually amazing. Also I kinda liked Jason X only because A. Jason is revived via NANOMACHINES, SON! and B. the ending implying he crashes back unto Earth exactly over Crystal Lake to begin his killing spree anew is pretty hilarious, like a Twilight Zone episode or something.

krystalfan The strange thing is that, like with the title of part 4, it wasn't titled that way to say it was the last movie. With part 4, it was supposed to be the final chapter _for Jason_ and that every sequel after that would have a copycat killer (like in part 5), and with Jason Goes To Hell, "The Final Friday," is supposed to mean the end of the series being called "Friday the 13th," as, like Brad said, New Line Cinema weren't allowed to use the Friday the 13th title. Update: I found all this out in the documentary "Crystal Lake Memories."

Well...this is the ultimate mixed bags of Ft13 movies: likeable characters, Creighton Duke, some not bad special effects, law enforcement being useful for once (sure he didn't stay dead but blowing him up gets them points for effort). On the other hand there was a crap ton of slowness in between the action points. And while the body switching stuff gets points for trying to do something different, it still didn't work. Better than Jason x...

Jason Goes to Hell is alot better if you look as it as taking place in the Evil Dead universe where Jason is a roided out deadite brought back life by his mother using the necronomicon. Plus, the kandarian dagger changes looks every movie, and the dagger used to kill Jason looks oddly familiar to begin with. Its all there, I'm not fucking crazy! Let me live in my bubble, damn it!

I think the biggest problem with the body switching plotline is that it changes the style of many of the death scenes from typical slasher kills to something...well, less like a Friday the 13th movie. The first one had a completely different killer and the Jason in part 5 might've been fake, but at least they managed to stick to that formula. Come to think of it, the whole movie doesn't really feel like a Friday the 13th movie. Jason Goes to Hell is pretty much falls down to being somewhere between Halloween 3 and Halloween 6 of the franchise.

Fun fact: that Evil Dead Necronomicon actually becomes relevant to the franchise's plot in a comic sequel to Freddy Vs. Jason, which brings Evil Dead into the mix: Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. It's a pretty good read, but it was sadly never made into a movie when Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell demanded it end with Ash killing both Freddy and Jason and winning outright, which the writers knew wasn't exactly fair to the fans of the other franchises.

I know there's a lot of cheese that doesn't really belong in the franchise but they do it in such a likable fun way I can't help but be entertained by it. On a side note am I the only one still waiting for a new Friday to come out? And with the GREAT hope they're bring back Kane Hodder as Jason? D:

He doesn't get an opinion for liking either. Channel Awesome has really lost my interest for the most part. I still like Lewis, mostly because I can agree with 90% of his opinions on comic books. Of course I like Brad, but I miss 80's Dan and wish he would bring it back.

While the body-changing thing and all the magical rules of Jason (which came straight out of butt-fucking nowhere) were 2 strikes against this movie, I think the thing that hurt it most was something that I've never heard anyone mention, including you. The music. It's just pure shit, from beginning to end. It's the cheapest stock-music I've ever heard in a wide-release movie. Gone is the "ki, ki, ki ... ma, ma, ma", and the intense theme music that stayed pretty much constant through the series. Somebody who took their fucking job seriously composed that music. It was effective. It made the other movies seem less cheap than they actually were. This music had the exact opposite effect. It made the movie feel cheaper than it actually was. WAY cheaper. Maybe they weren't contractually allowed to use the old theme either, but that's no excuse for the new music sucking this much. It's beyond lame. It's annoying. It's funny when it's not supposed to be. Yeah, they did pretty good with the visuals (now that you mention it). But a movie is an audio-visual experience... and somebody apparently didn't care to spend much on the audio part.

It's ironic he was able to star in a trilogy beginning to end of basically The Ragin' Cajun Jason aka Hatchet while NLC can't figure out how to make a proper fucking reboot in the days of Blumhouse spending $3 on movies that make 100M worldwide.
