I started to tear up watching this. Imagining this much camraderie, this much love all for the same celestial event, celebrating together. It's awesome. How small we are in the scope of the universe. It's scary and humbling and awe inspiring all at the same time.

Maybe thats not possible idk. I have never been able to see it in person so I was looking forward to it. But hey I appreciated the Live-Stream nonetheless.

Stayed up late to watch the livestream and was disappointed. I had expected a camera positioned to capture the sun rising over the heel stone. Was there concern that camera position would make people feel like they’ve already experienced solstice at Stonehenge? The number of people allowed to come is SO low that would be hard to imagine. If anything I think it would stoke a viewer’s desire to actually see this in person.

My first time today and I didn't think that I went with any expectations but I did not expect what I found. Large banks of spotlights on the way to the stones killed it a bit for me, it would have been great to see it and approach it as it was intended. It was a polished event that did not reflect the natural surroundings or I suspect the natural intentions of this magnificent setting and event. I nor anyone else can show how this was used and it's only my opinion but I think it would have been far more reverential than what I saw last night. And come on, rubbish left all over the stones.......WTF!

We're glad you enjoyed the summer solstice! Open access to Stonehenge during the summer and winter solstices is free, though we do charge for parking. English Heritage is a charity, and every penny generated at our sites works hard to protect and care for the nation’s heritage. The parking charge at Solstice allows us to recover some of the £300,000 that we spend on the Solstice celebrations.

You have not shown the way the light comes up. The crowd seems to be in the way of the magic of the light. What is the purpose of this film? It seems to only show how over crowded it is. When I went in the 1970s no-one was allowed up so close and I got to see the sun come up over the stone and magically through the other stones. it was a truly fascinating and spiritual experience . this is just a crowd of oblivious people treading into sacred soil.
