Presented by Voices in Society and Travelers Insurance Indemnity, this untitled PSA-style film from the 1970s is a compilation of various anti-drug use PSAs from National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Information (NCADI). The films were assembled by a film collector who did public screenings of cult films; he often showed this compilation under the moniker "Stoner's Night Out". NCADI is the information service for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The PSAs that comprise this film combine footage of drug use as well as interviews. Overall, this film warns of the short-term and long-term effects of drug use with the later segments of the film focusing on marijuana use specifically.
Young man walks solemnly along a forested road, voice-over begins discussing drug use like dropping acid / LSD (0:12). Montage of various interviewees speaking to the camera about where they believe the motivations for drug use come from and how to quell the behavior (1:03). Scene recreating an intervention between parents and their teenage son about drug usage (1:35). Man speaks to the camera about the last time he dropped acid (2:21). Scenes from outside a prison wall in Europe, imprisonment of Americans for drug use abroad like a girl in Rome and a young man in Spain (2:32). An American man speaks in an interview from Tehran, Iran about dope in the country (3:29). Anonymous interview of an American in prison abroad on drug charges (3:45). Two women interviewed in front of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece (4:31). Police officer from the NYPD as denoted by the badge on his hat speaks to the camera (4:53). Segment about marijuana and its effects on the body and mind (5:29). Segment about psychedelic drugs, specifically LSD and its effects on the body and mind (6:53). Montage of various teenage-aged interviewees (7:48). Interviews in New York City’s Times Square (8:56). Comparison between cigarette and marijuana usage - debunking various arguments about how marijuana could be safer than tobacco (9:30-11:54). United States Air Force Jet (11:17). Gillig Phantom Yellow School Bus (11:22). Weed dependence and addiction (11:59). Exterior of the United Nations (UN) in Midtown Manhattan, New York, United States (12:16). Message from the World Health Organization of the UN about marijuana usage overlaid background photo of the United Nations General Assembly (12:27). Images of different drugs like acid, narcotics, and heroin (12:57). Drug addict shoots up (13:09). Psychiatric effects of drug usage - scenes from a narcotics rehabilitation center (13:24). Burning map of the United States (14:01). Montage of teens looking at the camera saying “Who me?” - one teen stands in front of the Capitol Building in Washington DC (14:21). Interviewees explaining why they choose to use drugs (15:16). Scenes of iceberg dotted waters of the North Atlantic Ocean - underlying reasons for smoking pot (16:41). Teens saying they choose not to smoke - one stands in front of Staten Island Ferry and New York City skyline (17:22).

We learn more and understand things better as time passes. Cigarettes are genuinely awful in EVERY aspect. Marijuana cannot give you cancer, and has medical properties that we were able to figure out after the government stopped enforcing harsh laws and brainwashing people into thinking it was quote "the devils grass". As we study these drugs we get more true and reliable information on how they actually work. For a long time the government was in the pocket of the tobacco companies.

I remember in High School when I first started smoking weed, I would pull videos like these up on KZbin and watch them for hours while high as a kite 🤣 I gotta admit though. One thing I do agree on, is that I sometimes feel like I wasted my teenage years getting high and drunk. Half of High School is basically a blur to me. It was fun, but I distracted myself from a lot of better things I could've been doing with my time. And now as an adult, I'm a recovering alcoholic, who just 2 years ago came out of a medically induced coma because of it. I don't think I fully grasped the fact that I have addiction problems that run through my family.

They knew it wasn't dangerous to begin with. I started smoking weed in 1976 4th of July just before the Bicentennial parade and I'm glad I did. It was a beautiful day and we didn't know how good we had it everyone loved being American. Patriotism was at an all time high flags everywhere. We spent the morning making tie dye red white and blue T shirts and the women then. It the beginning of the feminist movement so none of them were wearing bras. It seems like a great thing then ever. They were all so beautiful. But who knew what monsters it would turn them into. And that night watching the fireworks at the beach listening to motown good times. Had a lot of great adventures because of weed then. I went to thousands of concert. I met so many interesting people many famous people. I Got to party with 3 Dog Night, I got to meet the Monkeys & Ringo Star, Jack Nicholson, Huey Lewis, Bob Seger And many more all because we all loved weed. I even got to meet Willie Nelson and shake his hand I didn't get to smoke with him though I was just a kid. I have very few regrets but that was one of them I wish I could have smoked a joint with Willie. After almost 50 years of smoking I can tell you the only long term side effects it has given me is a strange sense of humor and almost infinite patience. I've had a much happier life and a better life than most will ever know. The seventies was a great time to be a kid. Smoking was the only crime I've ever committed and I did it as often as I possibly could. I'm smoking one right now and happy to say it's finally legal in Michigan. Happy 420 everyone 🇺🇲 Rest in peace Sonny Bono.

Now look at the quality of women in your kids' or grandkids' generation, due to the above mentioned feminism. Odd how the feminine-looking women tend to reject that crap and enjoy accepting their nature of being "oppressed" where the second/third generation of feminists are literal bulbous, shaven, neon whales littered with piercings, tats and mental issues. What you're after is decriminalization and a culture with less fear. We have both in lots of places, so don't push much further. Just educate people online, which is exactly what happened almost IMMEDIATELY after smartphones exploded. People who aren't morons will always find what they want. If you use the government to force your views and policies onto everyone, do not be surprised when future generations spring back with equal or more force and reign in the opposite kind of politics. The "extremists" who are totally on board with repealing women's suffrage, banning drugs alongside pornography, and re-integrating Christianity into the government are growing at rates you'd never believe. And I'll tell you it's because we've seen firsthand what the consequences are. These people also understand how the above is simply social control meant to minimize the spiritual illness we're seeing in society today, like I said the smart people will always find a way to get what they want. It's about the mindless masses, the people who watch these PSAs and buy into them because the authority figure told them so. Now imagine if we had the Christian virtues which constructed this superpower of a nation in our government as intended, so people weren't then led astray by chasing the literal Satanic principles within their flawed self desires? Maybe we'd have ripped people on beaches instead of legged-whales, maybe we'd have good looking women instead of makeup-covered plastic ones or literal dirty hippies (coming from the guy with the mushroom picture), maybe we'd have natural unity instead of divisive "indivisualism", and maybe we'd worship our true creator instead of worshipping our government as LITERALLY EVERY ATHEISTIC SOCIETY IN ALL OF HISTORY HAS! Basically, stop using daddy government. Actually, it's too late so just be prepared for the rubberbanding, it is coming.

And 50 years later, half the country has mental illnesses and require prescription pills to function on a basic level, nobody wants to have children, everyone is paranoid that the world is gonna end and mental illness is so out of control that were about to ban guns due to the amount of crazed killers go out and mass kill everyone they can on a regular basis. Yeah, 50 years later, things are going great. It actually feels like the end of times. Millions of people legitimately have talked about this being the collapse of our version of Rome. Funny you made the 50 year analogy because we went from a world superpower, the richest country in the world, a manufacturing powerhouse, to - Importing everything from China and Asia, manufacture almost nothing here anymore, have large swaths of the population that are against manufacturing, production and any burning of fossil-fuels. The country is in debt never imagined by people 50 years ago. The country just was threatened by China a few days ago to kill the Speaker of the House, Iran just asked us when their mystery nuke will awaken, and North Korea hates our guts again... Yeah, but at least we got weed, right??? So you can sit at home all day and smoke weed and play video games? Cause thats good. Right bruhhhh?

@@zeebboo4517 Even if we stopped using wood pulp for paper products and switched to hemp it would be a large step in the right direction. Hemp is superior in every way compared to wood pulp and is sustainable. Hemp can be grown twice in a year that produces the same product that takes trees 40 years to grow and produce. Trees produce oxygen and use carbon dioxide but we’re clear cutting it all down when we could be easily producing a superior product. The green wave is just another government grift.

All I still need to collect are "The Corsican Brothers," "Yellowbeard," and "Far Out Man."🤣 While "Born In East L.A." and "Far Out Man" aren't technically "Cheech & Chong" movies, they still make up an important part of what I like to think of as "the ultimate stoner comedy collection" as far as I'm concerned.😉 Now that it's legal and very easily available in Canada, I usually keep a bit of high quality black hash around for when my arthritic hands hurt too much to play guitar. That and an occasional ice-cold can of Irish cider, make up the sum total of my "recreational drug use."🤣
