According to the Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain (IPCE), Galicia's Identity Landscapes are: cape Fisterra, the mountains of Suído and Faro de Avión, Monte de Santa Trega, the Ribeira Sacra and the Ancares. Five examples, according to the IPCE, of the "most extraordinary interaction processes between man and the environment". These five places were mentioned in the "Narrating Landscapes" project, a website with an interactive map showing 100 enclaves from all over Spain that stood out for their importance in cultural development. The initiative was part of the National Cultural Landscape Plan, and was promoted by the Cultural Landscape Research Group of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (Fecyt). For each of the landscapes, the project highlighted a series of associated values ​​(social and historical events, large infrastructures, commercial, agricultural, livestock, industrial or defensive/offensive activities)
