Its existence cannot guarantee or even allow a more mature site (that won't slowly be chipped away bit by bit) to exist. When those organizations demand you "clean up" the content on your site, and should you refuse, you'd risk them pulling out and blacklisting you, potentially killing your company. I'm not defending KZbin's actions here. However, in a corporate world (that is largely connected to government and international banks), eventually you'll be given that ultimatum. Hey Farket, sorry to hear you might be sick. I had to pause the video and vent my frustrations with the game for a couple of minutes, as seen below, but I'm very sorry about what KZbin is doing to your channel. Their management really is something isn't it? Anyways, I hope your day is going well and I wish you the best with KZbin. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not that happy with the game's state either. My problems lie in how much content from the first game that could've easily been developed for this game have simply not been done, as well as a lot of other things that I feel would compliment the game loop of Sons. Combining the blueprint system with the freestyle one, allowing for smaller 'grid' placement with the various sizes of logs, adjustments with the required supports, and just more diverse options for building a stable base would be more than enough to get me back into the game. Survival mechanics like illnesses, damage multipliers, athleticism, different pelts (and crafting recipes to go with), and so on would just make the gameplay loop so much better. In Sons, the grind is horribly imbalanced with the majority of it going towards gathering resources for base building, and the rest goes towards cave diving for story progression. Animal heads don't feel rewarding anymore since you can easily kill anything in the game with a simple gun shot, and you don't even have to haul the sheer mass of the head across the island anymore which is both an amazing thing and a mind numbing one. I understand Sons of The Forest is currently in Early Access, and I defend it's state as such. I just feel really uncomfortable that the devs' want to release the game at full release in about ~6 or so months (according to their initial plan if i remember correctly). It needs a lot. Map changes, survival mechanics, building improvements, optimizations, enemy diversity, and so on. I love The Forest, and I love endnight for what they did so far, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to continue to love Sons after so many months.

I love hearing how different it is to live where you do, I live in Montana USA and it's currently 10 degrees F and there's a foot of snow. Ocean is about 800 miles away hah. I gotta get down under some day. The only thing I'd say about the trees, is evergreens like that do produce darker shadows than the deciduous trees in your photo. Not as dark as this game but a bit closer. I love how deep you get into the game and the thoughts behind your play throughs, always entertaining. Keep it up!

Endnight should (and they may be) add a pickaxe to be used to bust those big boulders up into stone and large and small rocks. That would serve two purposes in that it would provide resources and allow you to clear areas for building. And I also like the idea of some sort of ground leveling system that was mentioned by another commenter. That would really open up the building possibilities. Great Vid as always! I thoroughly enjoyed my extensive first play through but struggle with any reason to go back. There is no 'loop' and the added mechanics and items don't provide anything to fix that. Great improvements for first time players but that's all. Balder's Gate 3 is SO worth it! I'm nearly 100 hours in, and just finished Act 2, there's so much to do, so much story, and it's so fun. I'd 1000% watch you play a series of it, I'm on board with you that Sons of the Forest isn't in a good state right now. Personally, I think they made the map far too big, and it took away from everything else in the game. I think taking a break from this and playing Balder's Gate (especially since you love the first two) would be great for both you, and the channel if you recorded it. But definitely enjoy it for yourself, first! Love your 7 Days content too, even though I know its not your fav lol

I had the same issue with the grid on a multiplayer game my friend and i were doing. Made a stone wall 3 grids out from our main base, then later wanted to go back in and make a walkway from the 2nd story of the main base to the wall. Grid broken many days earlier bit me in the ass, couldnt make the walkway.

Hell yeah give Baldurs Gate a go! I was a massive fan of BG2 when it came out, i never really got into BG1. I did play BG3 when it was first released for early access though, it was decent. I think they released it way too early, it wasn't terrible but it also wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped so i quit after about 10 hours. But development has been going well for it i think, i still have high hopes for it and would enjoy watching you play through it!

That grid breaking has been a frecking nightmare since they released the game. I sent them feedback about it and it seems they haven't bothered fixing it. Rock breaking should be implemented without a doubt. We are too limited in what we can do in building which is why i stopped playing it.

I'm pretty sure I've experienced the "breaking the grid" bug, as well. I've been building a stone fortress on the runway strip. I have my house in the center, and two separate concentric fortress walls running the perimeter. The fortress walls are each one unit wide, so there is a wooden walkway on top that runs the length of the entire fortress wall perimeter. In a previous build for the game, I was able to build the first perimeter wall without too much trouble. Since I've started a second outermost wall, however, I've started running into issues where stone wall sections that should snap together refuse to. I've had to demolish sections of a wall to get them to eventually work out, though thankfully not to the degree that Farket has had to, apparently. Furthermore, I've had issues where demolishing stone walls in the build current to this post has yielded some weird results. When I go to remove stones, I can take from the top row just fine. If I continue down the wall, however, I am unable to hold said stones, and no visual cues signify that any stones have been taken out of the wall. However, the game will indicate with placement markers that eligible spots for placing stones will go down one row for each stone "removed." Once the second to last row is reached in this way, "removing" another stone will cause all but the final two rows of the wall to completely disappear, without any building materials to show for it. In short, you waste a bunch of stones by trying to undo a wall, which I had to do several times when dealing with the "breaking the grid" bug.

I like the gas canisters, they pose an extra threat but you can also use them. Same with the motorboat canibal, I’ve seen plenty of people swinging away like madmen and blowing themself, and other canibals up.

there is a trick i just found with the stone walls. if you place a stone foundation outside of the grid of another structure (wood,stone,etc) you can build through that other structure. its useful for closing up gaps in walls on slants like you have. you have to eyeball the placement which can be tricky but if you get it right you can build a stone wall thats outside of the grid into the grid so you can close the gaps. hard to explain in a comment so try messing around with it to see what i mean.

@9:50 thats exactly where i built my main camp at launch of the game. I stumbled into the area and instantly recognised the value of having a pond, a flowing stream, and the natural defensive 'wall' ... and it was all thanks to YOU Farket. I learned it from your video from The Forest where you highlighted the importance of building in areas with natural fortification & defence. this is a really good spot especially for newbies , because once you build just one wall you will be left alone by the bulls##it of constant cannibal attacks. Then, as your camp needs to be larger, you just expand the walls around the camp.

I built ground level zip line pads to get around the map. I have the same problem with “launching” through the pad when I arrive at one. The solution is pretty simple. Simply place a single log down as though you were going to stack logs to fill a wall. It will stop you from going through the other side of the pad when you land on it.

Things they should do; - Better building system (fixing a lot of bugs with it) maybe some blueprints back for easier building - Item respawn based on certain time (ex every season, or every 4 seasons) maybe with an option menu for it. - Already exploded gas bottles should not respawn - Destroyed status shouldn't respawn when player build near it - Ability to destroy larger rocks with explosions - Censorship option for streamers to enable Imo: The building system it to slow and I dislike everything respawning so much. And on a my KZbin stand point I don't like censoring things myself when editing videos for this game.

BG3 is fricking incredible, its definitely living up the the hype. The game is baldurs gate mixed with divinity original sin 2, so many shared assets from its playstyle and larian's influence. Storywise would be comparable with bioware at their best, back at KOTOR, dragon age, mass effect, characters are incredible and fleshed out. It appeals to many target audiences but each playthrough can be completely unique, total blast. Love watching all your "the forest" videos, just got into it this month and having so much fun, wish I had gotten into it before everyone started playing the second game, the building just seems sooooo much better in the first game though. You're not alone fighting the grid! In my opinion the game needs more locations like simple buildings to explore (golfclub for example). map design is great but too empty. the hard survival mode shouldn't be pausable and loot should only respawn in cannibal camps. This loot needs to be increased and the loot pool of skin pouches should include rope and resin. roofs should always cover and virginia shouldn't show a location twice once you followed her to it. the next one is bit of a pain for me to say because it's fun but the glider shouldn't be able to fly infinitely. canibals are in lack of ranged units and a solar boat whould be great since you can avoid every attack by going into knee deep water anyways , which would be less op with ranged enemies. sry for the english, shouldn't use should that much.
