I had a german pointer cross Called Floyd who was put to sleep 4 weeks ago at age 15. Lewis reminds me of him so so much. We had Floyd from puppy to 15. People always asked about him and said how handsome he was. Beautiful dogs German pointers.x

Enjoying your videos, especially GSP training sessions. You identify characteristics of the breed and your approach to training them makes sense based on their kind of thinking, it is helpful as a first time owner of this breed. Wished I learned more upfront with you, however, it is an opportunity to continue to work on aspects that need improvement. Thanks!

Stonnie I've watched a ton of your videos in prep for training my new golden! She is 12 weeks old now and this video helped me with retriever training. She's not been terribly concentrated or willing to bring a ball or a bumper back. Thank you for the great content!

We are adding some challenges in our yard for our GSP. Love your videos so much as we work on “leave it” and retrieving. GiGi is the cutest chubby puppy! Love your voice when you speak to the dogs. Our GSP is a rescue puppy found mauled and doing well. Amazingly a pure breed abandoned.

I have a 13 week old GSP we named Remy. I grew up with a GSP/Springer mix, so I had a good idea of what I was getting myself into. I really appreciate your videos for giving me some better insight into some of the behaviors specific to the breed! It is making training a much easier process. PS, I have had to rescue a lot of pegasus and ponies too! I have 3 daughters. Those dang ponies are everywhere!

Do you have any videos on training dogs that are already older. I have 2 chocolate lab/GSP mixes who are full of energy and we haven’t know how to handle it. They are almost 2 now and still cannot walk on a leash. They are loyal and high prey and food drive. Thanks

stonnie, my black lab is perfect doing food work and whenever i see him really interested in a toy i go to do some fetching work in the hallway but he immediately will only focus on me when the food comes out and couldnt care less about the toy anymore...

How much "easier" is it to train a lab from a good breeding vs a GWP GSP from a good breeding? I want new puppy to hunt. I've had labs and chessie my entire life. I want to get a GWP (Drahthaar lines) but am worried about leaving the retriever breeds. Retrievers are notorious for being easy to train. The pointers seem to be difficult with their attention span ( something to touch on in this video) and their independent nature. I upland and waterfowl hunt. I am training to a pretty high standard running blind retrieves and hand signals with my labs. Any advise would be awesome! thanks for the videos!
@DaveDEF826 жыл бұрын
GWP are especially problematic because not only have they the usual pointing dog impulse control 'problems' but they tend to be very stubborn and hardheaded.

@@RaEra88 Welll, there is your problem... start small and then extend in baby steps. crate training can really help with dogs who show separation anxiety. there is such a thing as too much room especially when your dog has to be alone.
