The annual budget before the election is to soften the electorate into voting the same old back in again. It's manipulating the people to vote for them again. Apart from housing and health etc Illegal immigration is the single biggest issue right now in this country. We badly need a change of gov't or it will only get much worse...

Wonderful assessment, Peter. The annual budget in Ireland has always been a manipulated tool massaged and shaped to ensure reelection for the flunkies in power. Full of short term sweetners with no long term planning and prudent spending decisions to benefit the people.

Peter, I'm concerned that any potential "right to a home" legislation or amendments to any existing legislation would be a way to remove private property rights. They will say that the only way to ensure everyone has somewhere to live is for corporate landlordism and that private home ownership will have to go so that allocation of homes can be "done in an equitable manner".

Up till recently it went from ff in govt to fg in govt...kind of a system.....but now...that both are sharing...and they don’t want an sf coalition...they have an issue....they need a new system...and this can only work if ff and fg stay in power...this is how the country has been run for all time....every element of the state is used to it..... So as far as I can see there’s only really one alternative....and that’s an sf led coalition....first time ever that ff or fg wouldn’t be in control....Mary Lou said we were all palastinian now...I gather she was referring to the people being dominated by big business .....if we decide to vote against big business...we will have to adapt....big business will not support a people’s govt as they do a business orientated govt.....so if we are prepared to adapt...and work hard together we can do it....but remember that right now we can’t get staff for hospitals or nursing homes etc etc...we rely so much on outside labour....and that’s ok..but we need more of our own out working and not costing the state....it’s not a simple thing to run a country....but yes...I’m inclined to go for change myself and vote to support an sf and others coalition...while the new nationalist parties want change...they in reality cannot get the votes necessary for change... The numbers do not lie...are we ready for change...can we rise above the pettiness and come together....or will a give away budget once again expose the greed and self interest of the bulk voters....that remains to be seen....the media and propaganda has begun....choose from the heart for change if ya want change...because the media and online info is very dodgy right now....when so many people believe that opposition parties are part of the govt...we can be fairly sure that is propaganda from big business party supporters...trying to dissuade voters from the change possibility that has presented itself thru sf and others....that’s what I think....and never forget that there is more reason for external interference in this next election...because of the possibility of a United ireland...and some do not want that...we’ll need to be together more as a nation now as we enter this new time..

I was canvassing during the locals and pretty much told people to stop and moaning and vote in October-March. Find a candidate that's not parr of the establishment.
