Problem is, courts have ruled against cop actions thousands of times and that hasn't changed how the cops do their job one bit. It's illegal to ask for ID but try and tell the cop that. He will arrest you for not showing ID. And the courts will back up the cop.

people who support this unconstitutional practice (racism in other form) have never been humiliated on public with a random stop and frisk, only when they experience it will they understand how upsetting it is. If you are a thug, you only get upset for a few minutes, but for the average law abiding citizen, the violation stays with for a while, sometimes it can be the last straw that breaks the camels back --so to speak. I am glad the good judge saw it for what it is, the new style of racism.

It's all about just cause, you can't just run up on somebody cause their appearance is different to you based on your bias. Now if they're acting like something is really going on with them like they are acting suspicious or like they may be under the influence then the police would have every right to stop them. But profiling is never acceptable no matter what neighborhood you're in.

Probable cause means a crime has to have been witnessed either being committed or have been committed. You cannot make an assumption that someone appears suspicious. That's not the way it works.

The guy at the end said it perfectly. It needs to be done correctly. The rules in place for stop question and frisk are constitution and 100% reasonable. They also are a very powerful tool for police officers. What people need to understand is that the abuse and misconduct is what needs to stop, but eliminating stop question and frisk all together would be a very bad thing for New York.
