"Until" gives the impresson that you (presumed innocent) will eventually (in time or up to a point time) be found guilty. Where as "unless" means a condition must be met(?). It may come down to if your the prosecutor or defense that day in court. I lived in New York City during stop and frisk. I was a black college student attending Columbia University and living in Harlem. The cops only had one criterion for stop and frisk, the person is a black or Latino male, that's it. Not committing a crime or not acting like you were going to commit a crime made no difference. And It did not matter how you dressed or how well-spoken you were or what you were doing at the time. One of the times I was stopped in Harlem was because I had made prolonged eye contact with a cop as he drove by. And when they do stop you they make every effort to humiliate you, to make it clear how helpless you are in their hands. And when they find nothing to arrest you for you are dismissed like a piece of trash. That's why the NYPD is hated by blacks and Latinos and why water is thrown on them and they are spat on and unfortunately even killed. They get what they gave, NO respect.

Stop and frisk is a excellent tool to stop and prevent a person from been a victim but that tool has to be used professionally and should never be abused by law enforcement. Remember that stop and frisk is to look for weapons base on suspicious activity not contraband and the hand of the officer should never go inside the pockets because than that is a search unless if the officer felt a weapon. There should be strict guide lines and supervision to prevent officers from miss using this very powerful tool. Stop and frisk is base on suspicion not probable cause and that's why it can not be turn into a search under the eyes of the law but like most of things found in the very large and complicated Criminal Justice System there are exception permitted by the us supreme Court in regard about getting contraband from stop a frisk. The general rule of a stop and frisk is having suspicion and Pat down of the outside garments.

white people claim a man reading a book is suspicious behavior, in fact white people called the cops on people asleep in a car and said it was a robbery being planned, only a white person thinks harassing innocent people and searching them for imaginary guns that dont exist will keep them safe, thats like me coming in your house right now looking for godzilla and when you reply hes to big to fit in a house and doesnt even exist i reply yeah but how do i know that he doesnt exist, i have to check for my safety....................stop and frisk is whitepeoplisim it makes normal behavior into criminal behavior based of the imagination of white people, so a person drinking a bottle of water and jogging is now consuming alcohol from an open container and fleeing from a robbery because white people said so , not because it happened and they expect the jogger to give them details on this imaginary event by questioning him expecting an answer.

I'm in Nassau County and I'm a 16 year old white male. Last night I was walking to a 7/11 a few blocks away from my house to get some candy, I had my hood up just because I think it's comfortable. Out of nowhere 2 cops pull up in regular clothes and in a regular car and demand I tell them what I was doing. They scared the shit out of me. They searched me and got all of my info and then said I could leave. I used to feel safe around cops, but now I'm fucking traumatized. Thanks a lot.

Regarding weapons "found". Create citizen panels monthly from people who are called in for Jury Duty. Deputize them with absolute power to randomly stop any Police officer anywhere and anytime the officer is on duty. Search the officer and his/her squad car. If a firearm is found that is NOT LEGALLY registered to that officer, the officer is fired on the spot and charged with possession of an illegal firearm. If the officer is found to be carrying a knife with a blade over 3 inches in length that does NOT have his/her name/badge number engraved on it, officer is charged with carrying a concealed weapon. This enables officers to have legally registered and identifiable backup weapons for their safety while discouraging the practice of carrying "Throwaway" weapons. Citizen panel could just show up at random roll call and demand the entire room drop trousers. Officers should not mind because they have nothing to hide.
@springthunderboxer4 жыл бұрын
but then we are ignoring the use of body cams....body cams must be on at all times or not even controlled by the officer at all, on the otherside of the body cam is a taser facing the officer, he does something wrong on body cam he gets tased instantly stopping his behavior on the spot saving lives...give this button to the citizen panel allow people who defend themselves against cops to investigate themselves and now youre talking. citizen panel should only be comprised of people harassed by police because they are more familiar with police tactics and tricks the average person doesnt realize is a violation

Got to tell you I am an almost white guy half Italian half Hungarian. I was born in Italian Harlem later became Spanish Harlem now yuppie Harlem. All my friends were Italian as a kid. We were stopped and frisked all the time. It must have happened to me 500 times. Why, they tried to catch us with weapons on us. So what did we do in those days every building was heated by heating oil and they had water pipes. The guys with weapons hid them in those pipes early in the morning until they needed them in a fight. But back them we were not looking just to hurt people to hurt people. It is different now. Now do I hate the police? Yes because I took plenty of beating from them. It is hard to forget those beatings.

@@marcoAKAjoe we actually do have a long history of drugs and gang violence in NZ - and it's all ethnicities, not limited to any particular minorities. We do have plenty of corrupt police officers, but we do have a good number of good ones as well. And they deal with the gangs and drugs differently. It's not a valid comparison or rationalisation actually, because those things are not the entire spectrum of crime...

chalaco choro because they weren’t there and it’s to early in the investigation to know about this case, and no you cannot just believe the complaint, because due process exists it takes a couple days to get body camera footage from the company that stores the data same with dash cameras, if something is said early into an investigation and that statement turns out to be wrong, it could throw off the investigation down the line, making it harder for justice to be served, if you think it is so easy to be a police media correspondent officer then go through the academy, get hired and get promoted to that position

There is another place that police do this to citizens. Police stop citizens for no reason at all ask for identification, search their persons and vehicles for no reason. No probable cause, no crime was committed and no crime was going to be committed. Many people from that place moved to the USA because of political persecution and violations of human rights. Yes that place is called Cuba. So the US Government criticizes the Cuban government for violation of human rights at the same time does not criticize it's own police for the same human rights violations committed within the USA.
