Hi guys, great content as usual!🎉 Thank you for what you do for the UX community :) The video made me think. I'm helping UX people with their portfolios and I'm dealing with someone who has a "personality issue"...they don't have all this verve of putting themselves out there, but professionally they have believed that if they had learned the ropes they would have made it. What would you suggest to them if they are already doing their best in putting themselves out there? Are they 🦆ed? Should they stop spending money and invest their expectations in a career they are cut for but don't manage to pass the first filter? Thank you once again for the great content!👏

Thanks so much for tuning in. So happy you enjoyed it. As for your mentee/student, it sounds like they already believe they failed (i.e., "believed that if they learned the ropes"/had a different past). That belief is holding them back. They're holding themselves like they can't do anything about it, but that's just not true. We can always change and always do better. If I was this person's mentor, I would tell them to really investigate that belief and challenge it. I'd also tell them that they can dig deeper for their personality. There's always something you can do to bring out more of you. If they say no to all of that, I'd tell them to move on and look for something else. Because their mindset will prevent them from succeeding.
