Do you get nervous when negotiating the price of an iPhone or a piece of furniture that you’re selling on Facebook marketplace? You need to flip a switch and start treating the car inventory as your own. You work on commission, the desk in there is like your own personal office space that you have rented to sell your product. If you invited someone into your house to buy a used car from your driveway you wouldn’t be sweating bullets and nervous when they try to ask for discounts and all of that, no you just man up and tell them to their face “ this is the price” and if you felt like shaving off a few hundred dollars just to get it over with fine that’s on you. But as long as you keep looking at the dealership through the eyes of an employee such that you’re just a cashier at a grocery store checking people out and then you’re going to get yourself trapped in a “ customer is always right” mindset which gives them all the power.
