Everything about this video is win. LOVE the hair, and the makeup is SO pretty, and I love that you used to be a nail biter because it really inspires me to stop biting my nails. I love all the tips and awesome advice you gave I feel like for the first time I actually have the tools and knowledge to stop biting and have pretty nails for once in my life! Thank you for posting this video!

Thank you so much Julia. Over the last couple of months I have started using almost ALL of your nail tips from your videos (like NailTek, SecheVite, Burts Bees cuticle cream, glass files and your manicure techniques) and my nails are gorgeous now! I get compliments all the time and I got all my advice from you!! :D Thank you so much!

This was so helpful. I bought a glass nail file from Sephora because of your videos on how much more healthy it was for them. All I can say is wow! They are the best thing I ever did for my nails. I have a serious problem in biting my nails so they are never long. I can't even cut them, and barely file them with cardboard. Crystal filers is the only tool that are precise enough to get, and completely smooths out all the damage I've done to them!

I use to wear acrylic nail for years! I've taken them off and I'm going to try and grow my own. You inspired me to do this because everytime I watched one of your videos I noticed how beautiful your nails are. I've started buy lots of fun polishes and I also bought the Nail Tec II. I'm excited to see how it goes. Thanks Julia for being such an inspiration to all of us.

Thank you SO much for this video! I have been biting my nails since I was super little, my obsession with biting my nails is not as bad as it used to be. However my nails are still so short and never ever grow. So I always put acrylics on which I know are not good for your nails. So I am really glad you posted this!

I'm 16 and I bit my nails until I was 14. Discovering nail art and doing tons of designs on my nails prevented me from biting because, like you said, I didn't want to ruin the design/get polish on my teeth. Polishing your nails really can prevent you from biting them, and I actually discovered a hobby of mine in the process! It worked for me; so it can work for anyone!(:

thank you so much for this video! hearing your success has really filled me with a huge burst of motivation to finally kick my habit. the idea of using a nail file to stop has really struck a chord, as i begin to bite a bit, then it gets ragged, so i feel i need to bite it a bit more to make it all neat! i also swear by sally hansen nailgrowth miracle...it makes them grow so quickly, so if you do have a blip, you can get back on track quickly!

Thank you so much for this great informative video. I used to bite my nails when I was younger and thankfully I've stopped; I once heard that it takes at least 21 days/ 3 weeks to break a habit, so I tried it with nail biting and it worked for me. I've also tried getting into habits within 21 days and if you keep it up for that long and continue it's an easy step to changing your way of life. Thanks again for the great video!

Thanks Julia for this video. I just recently started taking much better care of my nails. I too was a nail biter LOL! One day I just decided to give myself a little manicure and paint my nails. I was pretty low maintenance in the nails dept. I got compliments on the color I chose and from then on I've just kept up with them and now they look so much healthier. This video helps for sure. And you look so pretty in this video. Love the hair and makeup! :) ~April

I was a bad nail biter too. Started doing the nail file trick to keep them looking nicer a few years ago and it really helped to deter me from wanting to bite them when they looked so nice. I found the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus Nail polish line and it keeps my nails from being so brittle. It's like a miracle in a bottle for me.

I watched this video a couple of years ago when you first posted it and I also have since quit biting my nails!!! What helps me is to ALWAYS keep them polished.....I use Seche Rebuild as a base coat or just as a coat to protect them if I do not have time to polish. I also always try to keep my nail files with me, and if I snag a nail and do not have one in my bag, I usually go buy one so I can take care of the rough edge and not be tempted to bite them off.

I don't know if you will ever see this comment, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for creating this video. I can say that I finally have broken the habit of biting my nails because of this video--not because you taught me something new, but because I was envious how healthy and long your nails looked in this video and was inspired because you once were constantly biting your nails but overcame it. Again, Thank you!

i totally agree. the reason i was always biting my nails were because i noticed chipping, peeling or uneven-ness. keeping a file handy is a must. i recommend the glass/ crystal files even over the metal ones. i use a lot of products that you recommend. thank you for steering me towards quality.
@kelef66614 жыл бұрын
I used to peel my nails, never really bit them and what you said used to work for me too, as soon as they grew a little bit I used to put dark nail polish on because even though it didn't look that good it inspired me to go on and I used dark colors so it was always in my face :) Now that they're long I don't actually feel like peeling them anymore, I guess I just broke the habit :) One thing that makes you do this is stress, so it's important to eliminate stress as much as you can!!
@pinkdaisylove14 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for this video. I always use those cheapo nail files and thought they all worked the same. Will purchase a crystal file soon! Thanks MissChevious!!! I use your method and i haven't bitten my nails for like half a year now. Another thing I always carry around with me in my purse or bag or whatever is a stressball. Instead of putting my hands in my mouth, I just play with the stressball...I always have it somewhere near me, but I don't use it all the time cuz it'll seem weird to other people...

Most belive that they are fake and not real, they are rock hard and I love them. I also took to heart to treat them as jewels and not tools which I no longer do.

ceramic files last infinitely longer than glass ones. I have tried glass, and they rub down in no time. I've got a Vitry ceramic nail file which has lasted YEARS now, and it has different graded sides. Well worth the extra money, it doesn't look any more worn now than when I first got it! Also Holland & Barratt do a "Skin, Hair & Nails formula" kind of vitamin & mineral supplement, which is a bit pricey but really works. I've never known my hair and nails to grow so quickly!

I bought those glass files but I don't like them so I now use a 100 file and it works much better. I also use brush on nail glue on the tips of my nails to keep them from peeling. It works really well. It's the first thing I use then I put a base coat of Seche Vite Rebuild. I tried the Nail Tek but it didn't do much for me. SVR, biotin and like you said a good diet with extra supplements of vitamins and minerals does wonders for your nails. Since I've been doing all this my nails are fine.

I am also a reformed nail biter. Or maybe just reforming? I only recently stopped, but the nail polish thing was what stopped it. I recently bought the nail polishes to do french tip nails (I think that's what it's called?) and I spend so long doing them I convinced myself not to bite. Mind over matter :) (not to mention, the white tips just look silly on short nails). I always use a clear bottom coat and top coat + nail polish too, and my nail polish remover supposedly strengthens them too :P

@fartingmcqueef13 жыл бұрын
@L0wrey I do the same thing! One thing i do is as soon as i start biting and it starts to hurt, i immediately stop and i grab my nail clipper and just clip the skin off instead of continuing to bite. And i always keep fingernail scissors, a nail file and nail clippers with me at all times! hope this helps!
@Chaosphere33314 жыл бұрын
I definatly think that would work! ty. Usually my main prob with the nail biting is that i dont have a nail file around and so i try to do it with my teeth, always a bad idea. I can never stop after that and I always end up biting it all the way down. ♥
