I get peeling nails (most likely due to my digestive system problems) and they're quite weak as well so it's great to know about what products you've used. I invested in a glass file, everything seems to be more expensive in Australia, and I have to say I was amazed at how much gentler it was on my nails. I realise this may sound juvenile but does it hurt when you use the cutical remover gel? Do you think it would be okay for sensitive skin? I've got rather broken and split cuticals on my thumbs because one of my nervous habits is to pick at them (I've tried everything to stop and I work on my anxiety issues) so again I'm really glad to have your tips on how to look after them. Burt's Bee's is even on the Leaping Bunny list so it's a brand I can buy :)

Try get gele nailpolsih on ^.^ it helps them grow stronger
@RedTearsBlackWings2110 жыл бұрын
I found that gel polish makes them weaker, but I do use it as an extra defense. I use to get bruises under my nails all the time from minor knocks. The problem is the polish peels off when my nails start peeling so it doesn't tend to last the whole 2 weeks on me.
@fiorellacarrillo986410 жыл бұрын
you should try OPI ORIGINAL NAIL ENVY NAIL STRENGTHENER..it's awsome!!...it also works as a base coat so all the time you keep your nail growing strong!!...(for me it is a better base coat than regular OPI base coat)
@RedTearsBlackWings2110 жыл бұрын
OPI sell their products in China and therefore they test their products on animals. They're also owned by an animal testing parent company and so I don't buy from them.
@fiorellacarrillo986410 жыл бұрын
RedTearsBlackWings21, well I just wanted to help, I've read they don't do animal testings but I respect your idea....hope you can find a good product for your nails :)

i would love to have natural nails like that! mine are always so weak and chip like crazy so if i want length on my nails, i have to get acrylic :( perhaps i shall try that nail tech stuff
@sweettart20019 жыл бұрын
My nails were like that, but the acrylics only made them worse! You need patience, but once the nails have grown ALL the way out (i.e. the nail that was closest to the cuticle when the acrylics were on is now being filed away at the tips of your fingers), generally a month or two, they will be less of a problem. This is because your natural nails are filed paper-thin by the dremmel tool (sander) the manicurists use to "prep" your nail for the acrylics. I swear by Sally Hansen Miracle Cure (it's a blue opaque bottle with a gold lid, the polish inside is clear). I would put 1-2 coats of this on every 2 days for a couple of weeks after I'd had acrylics taken off, then about once a week after that. You can use it as a base coat, but it's best if you just leave it on alone at first.

Remember, it's not a good idea to cut your cuticles. They have a purpose, plus cutting them can lead to infections. I personally, just push them back with the orange stick. A good time to do this is after a shower when your cuticles are soft or stick your hands in warm water.

You really shouldn't advise people to file their nails both ways. Its really bad for your nails! File in one direction only! X
@blondwiththewind10 жыл бұрын
She explained her decision in the video, and it works for her. I have found the same thing with glass files (I used to use a metal file...never the coarse "disposable" files). I will go "back and forth" to shape my nails with a glass file....but I do the final finishing sweeps from side to middle. Great results...increased growth of free edge....durable nails without peeling.
@somerandomfreak11210 жыл бұрын
what do you mean by that? why is it bad? because i do it the way she does…ahhhh
@JensBlend10 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't do it because it damages your nails. The friction of the file going backwards and forwards creates alot of friction and heat which results in splitting and damage to the nail and even cause the nail to not grow not necessarily straight away but for longer term effects. Obviously everyone is entitled to file which ever way they want but if you are not trained you shouldn't advise something that's incorrect as someone could take that advise and ruin their nails xx
@thekittyjitters10 жыл бұрын
it really does depend on the kind of file you're using.
