Well chuckles... My HOUSE was never intended to go down the road and thus, experience "earthquake" conditions. Your RV however... SHOULD BE DESIGNED TO! That's 100% the manufacturers fault, not the customer. Blaming the victim?
@TinkerBell673 ай бұрын
So, why are RV manufactures not installing the best independent suspension system when building the coach especially knowing USA infrastructure is poor? Why do owners have to install after purchase? And as the gentleman from Bish stated, a new purchaser may not know they need to upgrade the independent suspension, I wouldn’t know. This should be Standard Operating Procedure. What am I missing?

We bought a 26’ Flagstaff Microlite and it came with the independent suspension system and it’s the first RV we had that the things are still hanging in the back closet when we get to the campground.

Many weekend RVers would not want to foot the bill or in the end pay for this just to tow to the campground a few times a year.

The manufacturer should give the customer the option, Too get a good RV trailer you need to be in the $100,000 plus value, when buying my last trailer the price was not the reason i bought it, it was all the good reviews, I’m now looking at the independent suspension, but It’s harder to spend the money after you get the trailer and the down time to get it installed. Manufacture needs to focus on putting the best build they can, we are looking for dependability, being retired we only have so much time to enjoy RVing, Not much fun if the trailer is in the shop all time.

I’m buying a used class C and the first thing I’m doing is taking it to Weldtec designs and getting a 4” lift, progressive leaf springs and steering stabilizer installed. It’s very pricey but I’d rather invest it now so I feel safer and try to keep my RV as long as I can.
@CindyGuimont3 ай бұрын
Josh- shouldn’t the RV come with a good suspension system? They are supposed to be ready to roll down the road. The consumer shouldn’t have to make immediate upgrades to make the RV “road ready”!
@peterdob88683 ай бұрын
You buy a $100,000 RV then you have to go and spend thousands of dollars on a new suspension system and customers except this. !

Don’t forget on the proper plumbing that most rv are failing on
@skiphall7093 ай бұрын
@Drvinnieboombatts if your plumbing has red or blue flexible hose with worm clamps replace it or don't buy a rv that has it. It would never pass a plumbing inspection. I'm a plumber with over 30 years experience.

We now have a 2021 keystone cougar and love it. 35ft with 2 slides. Has all the high tech stuff. The folks we bought it from lived in it full time while their new house was built on their property in the country. They never traveled with it so for us it's still new. Had to replace the power converter and electric fireplace both due to china board issues. These items weren't built to be used full time on a recreational vehical.

I spent a ton of money on my toyhauler; why isnt the suspension offered when it’s built. What do we to spend over 100 grand on something just to find out that we need to spend another 15 grand on a suspension. The 2008 Jayco we had never had an issue. These days they all fall apart and they would if you put air ride suspension on it. Change my mind. I love your channel too by the way

Price for the suspension upgrade?

Suspension is one of the reasons that we went with a bus conversion. We have airbags on our front and rear axles, so no bouncy, bounce inside our coach.

I have had 4 RVs and I now have a CTC. Cargo Trailer Conversion. No more RVs for a while. Totally have been watching Josh since he was with Hayletts. Now if anything happens I can only blame myself for quality issues.

Where would you recommend that I take my fifth wheel to upgrade the suspension?
@joannlievsay66232 ай бұрын
So you’re saying or they are saying you spend $125,000 on a 2023 grand design momentum and now you should add or replace the suspension on it. How about they build them properly?

RVs manufactured today in the U.S. are junk. It’s all about quantity not quality. Moreover, the lack of building codes to provide oversight over RVs is extremely troubling. Everything in the U.S. is guided by some sort of regulation to ensure product safety or reliability. But, RVs have no such standards to which a unit has to be built. RV roofs are the number one issue owners experience in defective parts and labor. And the self leveling compound known as Dicor is about as useless as silicone, to prevent leaks. Something is very wrong when you’re re-applying sealant on top of sealant in attempt to waterproof two adjoining substrates. Second, the suspension system and chassis are just as equally defective as the roof. We need to stop buying this overpriced junk, in order for the RV Manufacturers to return to “Quality.”
@debbrown6493 ай бұрын
We left the RV world because of the poor quality of RVS, terrible customer service and dealers ripping hard working people off! It’s disgusting and so glad we’re not part of that circus anymore. And we all can’t be “RV influencers” and get paid by a RV manufacturer. RV stands for recreational vehicle. Pretty sure they aren’t intended to be lived in full time and I wouldn’t buy anything today to do just that.

Man... I'm starting to think all trailers (and thus, by extension, RV) are all junk. Only been living in one for 11 days now and already I want to sell this pos. Sink cracked from heat warping and unstable cuz the stabilizer legs are just on the front and back and I've yet to put them concrete for 4x4 wood pole holders to brace the frame... and the hookups for my holding tanks are so far out, I cant put a skirt around the trailer without extending it to make up for those pipes.... Also, I get that it needs to be 3" for blackwater and such, but its sooooooo hard for me to drain it cuz the hole in the ground where I am is only 3" with NO screw for my adapter. Trailer life is just pain thus far for me, but I have no other option. 2023 Keystone Springdale 242rkwe. If I had known it was going to be this bad, I woulda just converted my tinny car and used a homedepot bucket and use a gym membership for a shower.

Bottom line RV are not build for our roads!!!! That’s the message here. Then RV builder need to build better and educate…. That’s pretty easy in today’s online world. As a customer I buy an even to use it as many weeks I can a year and to drive the road we have. FAILURE of the RV industry…. However, to be fair, there seems to be some learning and evolving happening

The entire industry is a mess. No quality control or post construction inspection. I have a less than 1 yr old CL C with minimal travel miles. It has been back to the dealer 5 times. I am not going to even mention the dealer network. It goes in and then there is no communication.

Yes they are all junk. 20 plus years doing this. Learn how to work on them or find a different hobby. My truck can handle the roads, if you spend 80k, the thing should not fall apart.
