I will absolutely continue making videos! I am starting a new adventure with a different company right now! I just wanted to check to see how this starts out (if it’s a valid option) before I recommend it to anyone. 😉 but I am also trying to gather more resources for others searching for new opportunities. Is Palfish allowing foreign teachers in 2023? I'm a previous teacher (2020-2021) who got X-communicated. I was able to re-apply, but it is worth going through all the training? Does anyone know? Thank you.

Hello, I apologize for missing this before! As far as I know, they still claim to be hiring teachers from other countries (than those initially listed). I just do not know how that is actually playing out. Did you end up going through training? Are you currently teaching for PalFish?

I tried also the Cambly but i haven't get any response from them I've heard from different ESL tutor who attempted to apply that they haven't get any response either. It would be better though to at least send a message to applicant if they don't qualify or maybe they have a lot of teachers already I think they're kinda unprofessional 😒

I have heard that there is an excessive number of applicants for Cambly since all of these changes happened in China. It may be that there are too many applicants to keep up with. I’m sorry about your experience though! Yes, italki may be a good option! I hope that works out for you!

Hello! My husband actually changed out the lightbulb in the room for it to be brighter (he loves me! Haha) and then I use a ring light in front of me but slightly to the opposite side of the room light to balance out shadows and add to the lighting more. But I also touch up the lighting when I edit my videos. So it’s hard to show you exactly what it looks like in a class.

I have not heard of that one! (Or at least I do not recall.) I encourage you to do a bit of research to find real reviews if by teachers and make sure that it would be valid!

Is the law just saying you need a TEFL? Or is this a different law?

I’m sorry that I am only now responding. The new laws in China are now saying that foreign teachers (outside of the country, I believe) cannot teach their students. Many families are finding their ways around this, but that is a huge issue that caused the shutdown of numerous big-name ESL companies based in China, and drastic pay cuts and changes in direction for the companies still trying to stay afloat.

My understanding is that they are…but I know of a WHOLE lot of people that have been rejected or stuck in the process for an extended time. I strongly advice looking just about anywhere else, unless you truly believe this is your only option.

Thank you for this. I had a very hard time trying to apply. It had been almost a month and still, I heard nothing. Do you or does anyone else know if Magic ears are going through these same issues? I am really really in need of a job right now and am struggling.

Alyssa, I’m so sorry you have been going through that. You are not the only one (I have heard of many in the same position just waiting)Last month, I read and heard that Magic Ears will be completely closing in 6-12 months. As far as I know, they have said that students can finish out their classes already paid for, so they are hiring just as needed to help those students finish.

That can be challenging! If you are needing something very affordable, I went with the 120-hour TESOL certificate from Open International Academy. I found it for $19 with the right link! But there are others out there, as well!

But to be clear, there are definitely much better options out there! You just typically have to pay financially for the difference in value. ☺️ So it is important to know what you are looking for and why!

I think that everything is far from normal right now because of everything changing within the company. Sadly, I don’t know if new teachers will get any students at all. When did you get accepted?

@@brittneycheray5204 mine is Annie who took over from Sue ( I took a screenshot of the response just in case 😐) … but at the same time another admin joined in the admin group to offer another section for teaching adults or something like that , so I’m not sure what that is all about.

Alright, so confirmation from two admins then. I told mine that they really need to notify people instead of continuing to accept applications (and even pass them on to the interviewing stage!).
