my palms sweated the whole way through this but it worked first try. thank you for this tutorial. note for people wanting to try this. make sure you count your current slots, because when you go to hestu your current upgrades will not be displayed, and your slots will not show as updated as you are adding them. count them beforehand. what you want to reach is 4 full rows weapons (incl. master sword reserved slot), 3 full rows bow (incl. arrows reserved slot), and 4 full rows shields. and yes, if you already have upgrades, the cost is still only 1 seed, since hestu will think you have no upgrades yet. as you are adding slots, count on your hand, or tally, or whatever, but do not go over.

It worked thanks! I was going completely insane trying to do it. I was literally at it for hours, I finally did it one time… only to realize that I still needed to kill those trees! So even more hours down the drain. But after many more blood sweat and tears, I did it alas. The most difficult part for me was to get through or down the well without touching anything.

Will hestu always be at look out landing? What if I already saw him and now he's at the korok forest? I just restarted my game after beating it and I do not remember how hestu ends up at lookout landing like what do ineed to do so he's there? Or does it matter could he be anywhere and the glitch will work?

Thanks. This was pretty helpful. I'm on my 3rd playthrough and really didn't feel like Korok hunting. SOME POINTERS FOR OTHERS 1. Use 3 carts for larger platform 2. (If you have) use Hover Stone and place it (hovering over) front of the cave. Much easier to land middle of the 2 NPC. 3. Build your hover bike and leave it outside before you start the mission and you can just use ultra hand to bring it up to the platform. 4. You can land near the Cucco with your hover bike if you are low enough without falling off the bike. You can then take out a cart. While on the hover bike, I wasn't able to take out the Wing. 5. If you messed up with your slot purchase count, you can reload from auto save back to the part where you declined the Cucco mission.

To help dueing the cuckoo part, you can place wings with dragons parts near the well, as the edge does count as a reset point.

yknow, this was way easier when I wasn'y screwing up the first step and taking my time using the hover stones, that was legit the hardest part for me and was resetting for an hour(it's not hard I am impatient) This worked like a charm! Thanks for the guide

Found something interesting about this. After completing this and filling my inventory. After putting link back into a normal state, I talked to Hestu to see what he would say. As expected, he couldn't expand my shield or bow stash. But when asking about expanding weapons, he was willing to, but was asking for 999 seeds.

There's a chance I may have given him an extra for a bow or shield spot by accident because I miscounted. I wonder if I had given him the proper 35, he would be asking for the full 1k, or maybe it would register as a full weapon inventory as programed?

@Telkic so when I performed the glitch the first time, I accidentally purchased 1 less weapon slot than full. I only realized it once I ended the glitch. So I redid the glitch with the two Penn quests to purchase 1 more weapon slot. Which did max it out. Not sure why hestu doesn't register that, but I do know that I'll never be able to find out what he would say if I reached 999 because it's impossible to reach that number even if I wanted to. I know suishi warned of over buying slots because there were some unknowns. Maybe me triggering the glitch twice caused some unintended things internally to the save file

@ So it was maxed but still “allowed” you to upgrade it? This is very interesting it seems like you somehow created an offset maybe. Maybe you accidentally purchased an extra shield slot the first time which somehow carried over to weapons and the game thought the weapon slots were full so when you finally purchased the final slot It created an offset and allowed to upgrade again. The number 999 if im not wrong is also a placeholder which kinda gives me a feeling it is an offset in a way.

Yes, you need to be spawned inside the dialogue trigger. There's a range to minigames so you'll be stooped if you try to just fly over

I did the All-Clucking Cucco quest about twenty minutes before looking up if there was a way to scam Hestu like in BoTW. As a 1.0.0 player, I'm miffed with my bad timing. I wonder if there's other timed minigames this method would work for?

theres a method that you can use that doesnt require the cucco quest. ill be making a video on it soon. just make sure you dont clear the cave quest

@@SuishiYTFrom what I saw in your Hestu Scamming livestreams, other minigames just either end normally or softlock after a warp into the quest trigger. Have you tried with a minigame like the one in Tabantha Ridge (the massive ravine)? There's a critical lack of water nearby, therefore no glitchless setup, but a GAS warp from there might not queue up text like the sand seal minigame does.

I got it and everything worked out! I used the alternative method you showed, jumping off the platform to talk to the cave guys worked better for me then gliding to them from above. I landed in between them when I tried gliding every time but I just keep getting put onto top of the cave entrance instead of inside of it. Does this still work 07/26/2024? I can get between the 2 guys and block Link from walking back, but it does not create that spawn point. I test this by landing on the grass by the chicken and I dont respawn.

yes it does. it makes a reset point, not a respawn point. itll only reset you there on a void out (i.e. drowning), not on death

Good idea but I don't think so. It works with the Koroks because Zetsu charges more seed per an upgrade when you have more slots. This glitch works because the game is registering that you have no slot upgrades and therefore you only need 1 seed to upgrade your slots. The Bubbul gems aren't base on your inventory.

I don't see what you're mad about. The only thing this glitch does is speed up getting max inventory which is only useful in new files anyway. If you're already past this you're probably well on your way to getting max inventory the normal way.
