Good video. What do you think about to use a filter. When you go not to deep is a red filter a good option.

I personally don’t use them anymore and do it in post instead (see color grading section in this video)

I film in UK waters where the natural light is an issue. What colour and white balance settings would you recommend when shooting with video lights. Am I right thinking that even with lights I should avoid auto white balance? I’m currently using GoPro 7 black with two 4000 lumen lights. I’m considering moving to GoPro 11 due to 10bit colours they introduced.

Hey, 10bit GoPro is def awesome… yea avoid auto WB at all costs.. Depends on what color Temperature the lights have. I guess if they use daylight (5400k) then just match the color Temperature with the GoPro :)

First day on Bimini and I’ll be diving most of the week. Only God knows why or how one piece of my Backscatter frame is missing. Haven’t used it in years, and everything was nicely packed in the original box. Sooooo…….I’ll be using this video in a couple weeks to rescue all the video I’ll be taking. Thanks for this content! Well explained, but the result is far too oversaturated. Try to choose your colors a little more discreetly. It could be much more aesthetic.

I don’t think there is „right or wrong“ when it comes to color grading, it depends on what particular style you like but I do understand that the very saturated dramatic style is not for everyone
