Most people do NOT appreciate how soft the chiquita is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqSqhGCpodGths0

I’m a solid tennis player. Played my whole life. Never great but good enough to play competitively at a college level. More recently, I have focused on ping-pong which required me to adjust my swing, positioning, and ultimately my touch. Today i played my first padel game. As I set foot on the court, it felt deceptively familiar. Instantly my tennis form kicked in high gear. And just as instantly, like so many before me, I realized how unprepared I was. Luckily my newly acquired ping-pong skills proved to be much more adequate. Close-body swing over full-arm swing, tactical placement over brute force, and slices over top spin. I might be mistaken, but I feel like ping-pong players have much more of an edge than tennis players. Thanks for the videos, i’ll watch them all! 👍🏻

Great video Sandy and Tom! You address an issue which is hard to understand for most players. Through the video you give great examples of how playing hard gets you in trouble in defence. Then you explain and show how to fix the problem visually and on a technical level. Valuable info and well explained. Keep them coming!

Great video. Can you also do the same "pushing" with the backhand? Being on the left, consistently returning the serve with my backhand just over the net is probably my biggest weakness. I.e., because doing a lob is too big of a risk, and returning too high just gives your opponents a free smash at the net. Many thanks!

Good video! I think a good cue is hearing how it sounds. In the video it's very clear the difference when the ball is hit or pushed.

I love this video. Also by reducing your back swing you really need to move more, so footwork becomes more obvious, and that's where the work is.

Thanks Sandy... A lot of videos cover how to use the chiquita, but I can´t find videos on how to return the chiquita...

its a good point and it depends on where the opponents are (or moving to), if they are coming forwards then a chiquita or lob back are good options. we will make a note for future content!

Great Video! Possible to do a video about different returns to the smash from the net after it hits the glass - same with from outside the court?
