I think you are crazy because zhuge doesn’t come until kvk3 at earliest and you can get ysg in kvk 1 and you don’t have any other circle aoe for chaining.

I really hope the devs implement something like sculpture reset, even if its a one time thing, so that older players can get something back from the sculptures used to invest in the old meta commanders of the past. my martel and ysg have been collecting dust for a couple seasons now 😂

@@alanlianov if you have Richard 5111, you can chain barbarians. If you don't have time for that, that's totally fine. You just have to research archer tech and make ebony in blacksmith and craft revival set and invest in Boudica Prime in kvk3. Most likely any march with Zhuge will get targeted very much in the next few months so you can chill with Boudi-Ysg in the meantime.

Get used to it. Nothing will change in SOC. Once you expertised a commander, 1-2 new ones are out and are way better than the commander you just expertised. Thats why you should save your Gold Heads until you can actually expertise a commander from scratch. Then do it on a new meta one. Dont start commanders when u know it will take months.

Chis you really should consider trying zhuge + artemesia for both of their fourth skills " only if zhuge can remove her silence" maybe their tankiness will be relevant to the missing march speed. And their dmg is gonna give enough value to explode enemies.

Also while ysg 4th skill has some conflict with zhuge 4th skill. They still won't be a bad combo with a huge march speed weakness. But huge defense stats and Aoe nuke to make them capable of doing much more than they take in a murderball. That said, yes nevsky , joan prime, scipio prime are all really good to consider first.

For a new player that's just starting out who is f2p or low spender, Run Bjorn-Sun Tzu if you like infantry or Baibars-Aethelfaled for a cav march (It's like a budget Saladin-Aethel march). Archers in kvk 1-3 are just bad so stay away from them. Like Chis said, hoard sculpture for 6-7 months. If you do well in events, do Ark, max every MTG, put gems into VIP, guaranteed you can get anywhere between 800-1000 gold heads by the time you get to kvk 3 and you can expertise Scipio, Nevsky or Boudica, depending on what you want your first SoC march to be.

If Boudicca gives YSG (esp with 2nd relic) the tankiness, then there’s no point of meddling with that march. It’s better to pair Henry with Zhu, so that you get 2 high damage sustaining marches on top of your Nev+Joan. Please do testing for Zhu and help us determine 2 archer pairs.

I disagree. YSG will still be a solid investment for the early game because, 1 you still need to have fun before soc, 2 his AOE is still insanely good, not only for combat, but also for chaining barbs or whatever, 3 he's sooo universal, you could still pair him with anyone. you can put him behind nevsky or skippy or boudica and be quite happy. Unless ur completely f2p, YSG is still solid for an early game investment

1. Any number of commanders can let you have fun before SOC 2. Any number of commanders can chain late game. You’d probably be better off with a 5551 Richard for pve stuff. 3. He just isn’t universal anymore. You’re better off with Honda, Mehmed, JC etc if universal is what you want. Which it shouldn’t be, because what you should do is pick the best commanders for your roles

You wont have fun running elcid hermann, but you will have fun with alex ysg. there are other options yes, but YSG is easily top 3 pre soc. 2 is pure wrong. "Any number of commanders can chain late game" YSG Zhuge and the, theo's aoe is tiny, and we don't know about zhuge yet these are the only 3 that has circle AOE. 3 he is still universal, I'm not saying he's the best for soc but if you only enter soc and need literally ANYONE, YSG can be a good option. most new players wont have Mehmed maxed unless they are big spenders. commanders come and go, but YSG and his circle AOE will always be a solid investment, the best might be nevsky etc, but waiting for over half a year with no commanders...ppl might just quit

He’s not more diverse in any way. At this point you really can’t use a commander who effectively has two skills and no stats as a standin. You use Mehmed or Honda or even Ceasar if you need a placeholder

Very good informative video! I'am F2P and I invested like 400 golden heads on YSG so I'm a little upset about these changes. I think I will try to pair my YSG, but the best thing to do is to probably reset YSG in that yearly event to get my heads back. Anyways, time to see 1254 KVK with Zhuge Liang!

I’m running 2 archer marches and I’m opting for Boudica/YSG and ZL/Tomy(relic) to balance the march speed. I don’t have Art or Nebu. If I did I think I’d sub Art for YSG(maybe) and Neb for Tomy. But I think it’s close regardless. Just wish archers were faster :/

So YSG is about to become my 2nd fully expertised legendary on the bench. Harald was the first. currently running Scipio/mehmed, Guan/Alex, Boudica/YSG, Nevsky/Joan, Saladin/William. next to go will be saladin so im thinking of starting out with ZL 5511 (I can expertise him) and keep hoarding the remaining sculptures for a bit, exp ZL is obviously better but if the next gen cav requires exp to "be good" i may exp that first and then keep working on ZL. will still find use for ysg certainly hes the value king for PvE after all. summon 10 kahars and have boudica/ysg kill them all for the price of one? sure, no problem.

Question for everyone, is it worth investing in Scipio knowing that guan is so low priority that Scipio's expertise might never seen the light of the day. If someone would invest in Scipio, would he need to skip the other high priority commander to focus guan to make use of Scipio's expertise? Otherwise using scipio without guan feels like a lot of wasted potential.

One of the things that they're doing to keep commanders relevant is Bastion Skills, or more so Auxiliary Skills. I do agree though that prioritizing YSG isn't something I'd recommend for a low to mid spender any longer.

Basically if you invest into anything after kvk one ends, its 100% a waste unless you plan to migrate back to s2. Because you can skip s2 and s3 commanders entirely

I'm not sure about advising players not to max YSG. Relic could go up to 30% defense and possibly 10% skill damage. He's to versatile of a commander to bench. He can be paired with Heraculis, Honda, amd Trajan in the open field and can be paired with Zhuge for double circle AOE
