G1 had Cybertronian designs, but the only ones shown before the movie and Season 3 were Shockwave, Soundwave (lamp mode), the fembots, the Seekers, Wheelijack and Bumblebee. My guess is that they're either making toys of those designs (like they're doing with Starscream, since his Cybertronian alt mode is basically the exact same as the one from the G1 cartoon) or filling in the gaps for the other characters.

The leaderclass Shockwave seems fine, when you include all the extra plastic for his sled that can be used as armor. That extra sled was right to add the price, but was it the right call, in the end I think it fits the line perfectly for the play factor.

Thanks for the (sorta) shout out, but I wasn't exactly the one saying it's not a Lamborghini, it's hasbro. The point of the siege line is to have G1 robot modes that turn into Cybertronian vehicle modes and have as solid transformations as possible (hence why this prime is so panel heavy) and they just got really lazy with the Lamborghini carbons as they barely bothered to make it look Cybertronian aside from removing the spoiler and roof and rounding out the front. Hell if you look close enough primes truck form just looks like Iron Man and Doc Brown slapped a bunch of stuff on it.

As for the backpack, the plastic that holds that pin is super thin and it can be trimmed with an exacto knife to expose that mushroom peg, that way it can clip back on and be easily put back on. :) so glad you’re back!

i really like the fact that he has *QUAD MINIGUNS* in truck mode, i don't normally care about G1 style Primes because i'm not old enough to have grown up with it ( *MY* Optimus, the one i was first ever introduced to, is cybertron Optimus, siege leader here we go ), however, this one particular Prime is the only G1 representation i can't help but love for reasons i don't quite understand.

Damn... you make that Optimus look so sweet. Personally though the lack of trailer still bugs me. I kinda wish they'd made Optimus and Magnus mold-mates, with retooling to make that trailer close paneled and with a powermaster inspired combined mode. Unfortunately we're probably only going to be getting a remake Galaxy Force Optimus using that mold, which is cool and all too... sigh... but I still would have loved to see it used for something more classic as well.

Just got the 35th Anniversary edition Prime a few days ago, and let me just say it is a GORGEOUS figure. They took the already fantastic figure and gave it an animation-accurate paint scheme that looks simply amazing! Apart from the kibble on the arms (wish it could move a bit to look smoother or outright fold inside Optimus' wrist, and no, i don't mind the back kibble because it doesn't ruin the sillouette as much, plus, you could say it's a jetpack, considering the Autobots had jetpacks at times in the show), i think this one is better if you don't mind the Cybertronian truck mode (Toyhax does help with that, still looks futuristic, but has some Terran details). I think he nails the proportions much better and just gives off the G1 Optimus vibe more than any other Generations version of him.

The beauty with these lighter figures with feet articulation is that they are joy to animate with. I didn't mind that you tried the voting.
