This is interesting because honestly i havent seen this before. Everyone usually just talks about rotating and engaging your hips and all that jazz nobody mentions over rotating being a problem. Very interested to try this out now.

Haha maybe! However if you have the ability to time it properly… it can add distance with the same effort.

I'm definitely over-rotating, I can see I'm basically looking forward at my release point. I wouldn't say I'm trying to rotate my shoulders forward to power the disc though. I think my problem is I'm planting slightly open, I'm not staying behind my brace and I'm looking up too soon. I think the tips here are still key for me though, thanks!

This is my main problem. Haven't yet figured out how to plant my foot without hurting myself though

Plant it as though you are stopping, not straight down, but foward. Then you are unlikely to hurt yourself.

If you can't plant your foot without hurting yourself, I would say THAT is your main problem.

I do this because with my off arm I drive it to my farthest pocket. It sends my shoulder forward this over rotating. Thanks Josh!

Should I move all my weight and rotation to my front foot.? Or focus on getting my back foot around/ forward on a follow through.??

What do u think I cld do if I was having knee problems with my plant knee? Like when I bring my arm thru and throw, that little 90deg turn of my front foot has been giving me pain for a few years now. Ive tried a few things that have already helped, but without that quater turn on that knee. Try to throw w no front/plant leg, it actually helped show me where n how my legs generate and use power better. The best thing I changed that helped was getting my front foot a little ahead and out in front of me, which kinda makes me keep my weight back till I throw more. But when I go over 70-80% I got to start twisting on my knee again... Just a side note- what started my knee pain was doing practice throws without throwing so much...also helps to have the right amount of grip in my shoes too! Real grippy shoes I get more power but more pain too!

I know that boop, thats all I got feeling like wheres my power? Why cant I swing? This was a problem for me for a while, but when I stopped turning so far back on my walk up I guess I self corrected and stopped using my shoulders before my arm!

I always learn to do things wrong. I started driving my off shoulder forward in rotation because "spin and throw" on facebook told me to. Well now I'm screwed again

All about matchups. Nothing is truly wrong or right. Its what technique gets you to put the most spin on the disc consistently. Plenty of pros do what you do. Plenty do what OT is talking about as well

See when he doesn’t talk about where real power come from you actually need to turn and pivot on that front heel through your shot. You DO NOT just stop on that foot. Bad advice

I was in the same boat, but come to realize there really is two different schools of form, and middle ground. The first is like this video. Power primarily comes from the weight shift from back to front usually pulling the disc in a straight line. Because of this you'll be calling on your front leg to handle the brace, pivot and balancing most of your weight as your forward momentum will shift you over it. The second is more like swinging a bat, you brace with your front leg, and drive your back leg into the ground to spin your hips and sling the disc forward. So the front leg is mostly there to brace, the rear leg is driving the pivot and balance is split between the two legs. With this, you're asking to generate power from the non dominant leg. Then a lot of videos pull from both... But understanding that made it a lot easier to realize if a tip would work for my form or not.
