Morning Summit is the most expensive cereal I have ever bought and I couldn't get over how much it was. I was sure I could make my own version for much less and in this video, I give you a pretty good recipe to save some money and enjoy something really close to the same thing.
I really like OXO cereal containers: amzn.to/4aOnkIA

I was as transparent as possible in what it cost me to make this, but keep in mind while editing I ended up finishing this remix box and making a second batch where I went to the bulk food store and bought only the things I need (plus I bought a Costco size box of Honey Bunches of Oats at like 16 cents an ounce).
Ingredients Honey Bunches of Oats 1 box 340g
Raisin Bran (no raisins) ~300g (or how much flakes you can salvage or just use the box with the raisins)
170g Sliced and whole almonds
140-150g dried cranberries and dried cherries
53g of pumpkin seeds
90g store-bought granola
1-2 tsp of vanilla
a drizzle of maple syrup (or add a bit more)
optional: toast the whole almonds in the oven at 350 for 10 min, be sure to toss them around the 5 min to avoid burning.
UPDATE:
Remade a new batch w roasting the nuts a bit, adding a little more maple syrup (about 15ml), a touch brown sugar (about 1 tsp), and 5ml of honey. Calories go up to about 190kcal per 55g serving and a more cohesive cereal. Still not as sweet as Morning Summit but a more jacked up version of Honey Bunches of Oats. Still totally worth it.
Other options, and I may do a follow-up video on this: Use peanut butter store-bought granola, or store-bought coconut granola, make your own homemade granola, add cinnamon, add more maple syrup, dried apricots, raisins, banana chips, coconut flakes, different kinds of nuts like cashews. Just be mindful all these can add up the calories. Remember what I've said before "Heavy is the hand that can ruin your breakfast cereal."
Thanks for watching!
