Hi. I just love your videos. I’ve learned a lot with them. I’m over 70 and I began to draw for about 4 years ago. “It’s never too late”😊. Yes, you’re right, it hasn’t to be perfect, important is just have fun.

Wow, I had to pause this video to write down "The bad art is what you climb on to get to the good art", inspired by what you said. Thank you so much for your inspirational words :)

When I was young, the blank flat surface worried me a lot. I knew there was lightning in my hands, but flat? No. Forty years later, I learned what my medium was: carving. Some potential artists have only to find their ideal medium to crack the ice. Mine was in three dimensions, not two.

When I was a kid I used to just draw and paint. As an adult now working on a video game (as a hobby), I've lost the ability to put pencil to paper and create any game art! Arghh. I love your method for mentally separating the creative and the critic!! This has changed my outlook so thank you!

I get much from your encouraging words to the point that I have started the doodle of the day, what a change . Sometimes it’s a couple of days. I see something that inspires me and I begin to draw and if I have to capture it on my phone, so what, I can work on it, if I feel like it. What a game changer calling what I enjoy doing “doodling.”The same thing I did in my childhood. So thanks!

This video reminds me of the book that you wrote, The Creative License : Giving Yourself Permission To Be The Artist You Truly Are. Seems to be an extension of it. Love that vibe. ( Also that book changed my life when I read it as a younger person.) This video was a big help.❤

Thank goodness I’ve never had a lost of ideas where I can’t create something. When I’m stuck I go back to where I started and refresh my mind to get a recharge. I’m a big kid at heart and never lost my sense of humor so I create for me from the view point of having fun and exploring my potential. This allows me to create stuff that surprises me.

I loved hearing that my creations might help others. So often I tell myself that creating my own art is pointless and maybe a waste of time. If I consider that maybe my art would help someone else, that might be what I need to justify the time and money spent on it. Thank you for this.

Thank you for making this. This is the kind of stuff every artist/creative knows but needs to be reminded of, it's very easy to forget, especially in this decade of hyper-commidfied art and social pressure to monetize every hobby. The internet needs more stuff like this and less rage bait and AI slop I especially appreciate this because I've been making an effort with this stuff in drawing and music but weirdly I've still been creatively stifled with my Gamedev stuff, which is especially weird because I make art and music with my computer too. Guess I need to think of Unreal Engine more like I think of Krita :P

It was a great coincidence to see this video, it really made me go back to when I discovered art myself and how it had helped me through my life. 🧡 I feel so inspired by these words and how good points you made in the video, I certainly can't wait to see where my journey takes me, thank you so much for this video, it was the kind of boosst I needed for myself 🫶🏻

Danny, thank you so much 🫶🏼 I remember that even as a child I was highly judgmental of my drawings. Don’t know why… so I stopped drawing until my dad died three years ago and I was so heartbroken that I started drawing again to help self-regulate and manage my hurricane of emotions. 🪄✨💖🎨
