Dope vid and really liked the explanation behind being early rotator minus the b Sova anchor example. I do think some of these calls are weird tho. Like when he got first blood mid, and he has 3 scaling from tiles (with an initiator with them in Sova), him briefly checking A main or even splitting A main and going late is not a bad idea is it? they had 4 scaling mid, no one/no util for B flank or A flank. So many rds I feel like people get early pick and scale mid, only to get flanked from garage or top mid. Him checking A main kinda makes sense or even going late makes sense as they have more map control that way. If they go cat to A, you might have their anchor sitting A main while heaven rotators come thru putting you in a weird crossfire. Idk just felt weird that he was criticizing for checking A main flank considering how common a play it is

You’re right, there’s probably no wrong play there as long as there’s justification. I coach based on what I would do or what I’ve seen other players do. Also I try to keep advice specific to a role so their job is simplified

Can you please do this for every role. I just started playing the game and I would love to learn the roles of well all the roles :) Like duelist on attack and defense. Attack is obvious but for defense I have no idea. And for sentinels and controllers too :) If you already created them would be nice to tell me the names of the videos

Duelist on defense should test the offensive team and gain info by holding and pushing various parts of the map to learn how offense likes to play, and get some picks to keep offense on their toes. Essentially, as a duelist on defense, you're playing with fire and learning how much you can fuck around before finding out, and putting pressure to discourage attack teams to push areas of the map. Kill, create fear, and get info.

The game after around high gold to plat onwards is mostly just about the way you play. Aim obviously matters but it's so much easier to get your aim on point then it is to actually play the game in a simple and correct manner. This isn't about valo but it relates --> "Football is simple, but it's difficult to play simple." - Johan Cruyff. Often people over think and get caught up in their own decisions. Biggest mistake you can make a lot of the time is thinking tbh, sometimes you just have to take the breaks off and rip it 160 down the highway with total reckless abandon.

Thanks just started playing this game not too long ago, I've found my identity being Duelist/Initiator, really insightful remarks on the utility usage and space taking I could already recognize the mistakes the person was making before you even mentioned some of them, with this type of informative videos as a pillar to solidify my fundamentals I'm ready for ranked, just gotta improve my movement which has always been a bit of a struggle in any fps I play. Good channel though, subscribed =)

Hey Dopai, can you tell me why playing behind the boxes as Fade is bad because I play there as Omen and wait for them to enter so that way I can get easy flash kills.

Haven't watched the video fully and I am not dopai but... with Omen or a smoke agent you can play like a rat and get out. With fade and other initiators your job is to get information or setup your team/duelist. If you play ratty, the whole enemy gets in, kills you, the retake will be much harder for your team.

Omen flash is very good when enemies have to push out of a choke, it's much easier to hold flash on their exit and get free kills. Fade however only has eye or tether for entry which is way harder to capitalize off of. Even if you scan all five enemies on their entry it's almost impossible to avoid the trade, meanwhile Omen can TP out to heaven, smoke himself off, or try and kill more blind players. It's VERY similar in concept to what Dopai says at 12:30 .
