If you go back to the female Titan episode in season 1; when Annie grabs Reiner out of the air, there a shot of him winking at her as if to say, I need to tell you something. Also more subtle than that is the fact that Armin says they need to keeps their hoods up so that the female Titan won’t kill them right away for risk of killing Eren. Well the first thing Reiner does when engaging Annie is take his hood off so Annie can see that it’s him.

So I didn't guess Reiner was the Armored and when this dropped when I read the manga, I literally turned back a page and reread... paused... did it again... paused... went back 5 pages and reread cause I was SURE I must have missed something because of how this is revealed AS THE BACKGROUND CONVERSATION. The pacing of the writer of Attack on Titan is so much on point. With this and the storytelling, this is definitly his 2 best skills when it comes to story writing. Alriiiiiight finally here. Let's talk about details, shall we? I'll keep this one short, because the next point is a bit longer. Firstly, if you pause during the lightning flash on Reiner and Bertholdt's faces, you can see the Armored and Colossal respectively. Nice touch there. Second, the song that plays during the transformation is the second half of "YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T". While that half is based on the song that played in the very first episode, Vogel im Kafig, the first half of the song played earlier this season. Hiroyuki Sawano likes to code many of his song names, and this is no different. "See" in Japanese can be translated as "miru". So "YouSee" would be Yumiru, which is how Ymir's name is pronounced in the show. So now we have Ymir BIGGIRL. Well, we now know she is a titan. A big girl. So the title of the song is "Ymir Is A Titan / Titan vs. Titan".

Remember back when Annie first appeared as the Female Titan? Armin had already suspected her because of the whole gear mix up with Marco, and he confirmed it with his whole "suicidal bastard" shtick, so its safe to assume Armin knew Annie was the female. He didn't tell anyone though, because he didn't know who he could trust. Him Jean and Reiner were stuck outside the wall after Annie attacked with only 2 horses, so Armin offered to get left behind on one condition. That Reiner report "something" directly to commander Erwin of possible. If Armin told Reiner he knew Annie was the female, things might have turned out VERY different, but Historia came with an extra horse just in time.

The way they say Ymir is actually with 3 syllables more like Yu-mi-rere, but they say more with some kind of roles in there. Fans pronounce it as Yu-mere(mere as in rhymes with near, not mere as in rhymes with her.

So, Ymir's name is weird because it's a name from Old Norse, but it's the English pronunciation being fed through Japanese syllables. I think the confusion with how to pronounce Ymir is just the Japanese accent causing a strange pronunciation. I actually hear the Japanese VAs say "YI-Mih-R", so not quite "YI-MiR" nor "IY-Mih-R". I was in shock when I first saw this episode I didn't expect them to be those two at all mind this I was very young like 8 or 10 and was like my very first major anime from like Naruto which was one the TV at the time and I watched it in English dub and it was a shock of how they just tell you what they were telling eren it took me a minute to process on what he was talking about

So why isn't any of the people who were at the tower mentioning that the Beast Titan climed over the walls? I think that is a massively significant piece of information. Also with his propensity for throwing stuff, he might have just tossed his subordinate titans over the wall. Who cares of they end up a jumble of broken limbs on the other side, that's just gonna take a couple of mintues or maybe an hour to heal anyway. Even with them knowing or at least suspecting that Berthold and Rainer are titan-shifters and them trying to lure them into a trap, this is still extremely important information. That the pair might go on a rampage is even more reason to spread the information around, to ensure it get's back to Erwin and doesn't die from a couple of people being killed. You pick up on surprisingly many things most others overlook... but it seems even you overlooked how Berthold was about to bite his hand when the tower came down, just before Ymir told them to hold on to her. ^^ Having this whole big reveal happen so casually in the background is kind of brilliant in it's own right. Even the people that figured out that either or both of them were titans, were completely caught off guard by the way it was revealed. It will also do double-duty for things later down the line, where you would usually think "yeah, something that important can't be happening so suddenly without buildup", but thanks to this scene there's doubt of whether it is just a fake-out or if it's really happening. And thankfully they mix it up, with some being fake-outs, but others the real deal, making it that much easier to once again be caught off guard for full emotional hitting power. Also shoutout to the OST again. The song when everyone transforms is "You See Big Girl".

Ya know what's sad? (And I can say this because she knows or thinks she does...Just in case spoiler warning if you're interested just come back at the end of season 2?) Reiner deep down didn't want this, because in the 5 years he was in the walls he was able to mKe real friends in the 104th, and he grew to care for them. Imagine being told you have to kill your friends to get what you want or save yourself. Reiner didn't get a choice in this situation, other than wipe everything out or die. The same for Annie and to an extent Eren (It was working with the Scouts or execution). The only Shifter really free from this conundrum is Ymir, but that's because her only real alliance is with Historia, and being true to yourself.
