Stop Requested

Yep, I can make a video about anything. This time it's facts and opinions on the stop request system. Also, I'm aware of the weird thumbnail. Didn't exactly get good options

Something I find interesting is that C-TRAN's Vine buses still have the stop request cords despite the buses stopping at every stop, on both the 2016 hybrid buses and the 2023 diesel buses, and they will likely be on the 2025 diesel buses (of which there will be 15, likely numbered 6021-6035). I can't think of any reason they would be unless they are standard on New Flyer's buses

I don't know how recently, but Cherriots did relatively recently change their on board screens so that once requested, the words "Stop Requested" stays lit up forever, until you hear the "Now Approaching :::Insert Stop Name:::" announcement (assuming you haven't already), at which point it'll switch to that, and then (if there's time before the bus stops) switches back to "Stop Requested" until the bus reaches that stop (i don't know if it switches to the time & date. Maybe one of these days when i go to Keizer Station i'll see about requesting a stop after the bus turns onto Portland Rd and watch to see if that happens or not, or if it just stays at "Stop Requested" until it gets to about the Chemawa/Keizer Station Blvd intersection where the announcement for Keizer TC usually starts.
