The players have done just as much damage to the game as they have, Say What?! Your subtle rant here blaming the player base for giving feedback thus providing Sega with the perfect opportunity to help themselves is unjustified, so NO your point didn't come across correctly at all. You have let your feelings disregard common sense. As the saying goes "if you don't want an honest answer don't then ask the question" plain and simple. I've played Base for over 6500 hours beetween the JP and Global Version combined. I started Base PSO2 back in July 4th 2012 on the JP Server, without English Translation Patch and back when we had to use a VPN. Game was sure rough and not polished at the start but the content rollout and the gameplay where allrdy, a lot better then what we currently got with NGS. Back then there was no sub class system, movement PA where non existent and gameplay was much slower and a lot more similar to PSU, compared to what PSO2 turned out to be in the end. At launch, the content avaiable was pretty much the same as NGS. But, by the end of october, we got twice as much content added compared to NGS. Played in this period of my life till Luther UQ got released without breaks. A couple weeks after Luther UQ released i did quit. Came back to the game August 27th 2014. When EP3 released. This in my opinion, was the pinnacle of PSO2. Tons of content, great itemization and a lot of variety. Once again played for 7-8 months then took a break. Came back with EP4, January 27th 2015. EP4 changed a lot of things, story was meh but overall, was a good time to play the game. Deus Esca and Mother where great UQ's. Game suffered from balance issues but nothing, nothing got us prepared for what it was to come with EP5. EP5 was garbage. The new Hero class was overpowered, story and setting where bad, and we had a LOOOOONG content drought. Game all of a sudden lacked variety. Buster Quest where a pain and the only content avaiable for months. But lot's of collaborations happened at this time. Was after the Monster Hunter collab ended that i quit the game for good till Global Xbox Beta reignited my love for the game. After farming non stop for Zara and Ceres gear just to see it replaced by 15* weapons was a hit i couldn't take. So yes, you are right Base was not perfect, and never will be. Sometimes during EP4 it loat his identity and only partially recovered with EP6. But, was a much more polished game even from the start. It got a lot more support, care and love put into it that NGS ever will. NGS will never match Base. NEVER. Maybe is the hours i spent on it, making friends and enjoying my time that makes me talk like this but NGS just does not get it right. I see what they want to accomplish, but atm realization of that vision and concept is poorly executed. All of us can see it, and that's why people ste away from NGS, some to never come back. Nobody here is romanticising Base Just, Base PSO2 is a better game. NGS can get good and there is potential. But as it is right now, well, is an underwhelming, buggy unfinished and unpolished experience that should have never come out in this state.

@@joeresio For sure the game improved over a year. Potential for it to being a great game was here from the start,am not too happy either on how things are now, since most of the stuff that was added in are features that where present in Base and should have been in NGS at launch. All i can say, 1 year after launch is that pretty much everyone, including the people that where defending the game when it was undefendable, at some point got a huge burnout due to the lack of variety and content. Now everyone agrees that NGS got TONS of issues that must be solved. They are working on it, and improving, but is still not enough, they are missing the mark on what the game needs, and in order i think it can be summarised in: - An open world that foes not feel as barren, with NPC, Quests and secrets in every corner. - A better leveling experience for your 2nd or 3rd class, grinding PSE sucks the life out of you.. - VARIETY. More diversified content to take part in, different quest types, maybe Time Attacks, a Leaderboard, something akin to ARKs Quest (yhey kinda got it with the drill operations ) and NGS will finally be how it should have been at launch to not disappoint the player base. Fingers crossed for Kvaris

I think this is simplifying the actual issue. The problem isn't with the content that is coming out so much as the content the game started with is so lacking, and the content we're getting there after feels like crumbs in comparison, while going so heavy handed with the monetization and how they have alot of things locked down like personal shop only able to sell with premium and passes, having events almost solely to spend money, locking very desirable things behind paywall. The base content doesnt even explain the lore to you. We're about to go to a whole nother region and we dont even know Jack about Aelio. The enemies we fight arent even explained, the hell IS an Alter? And why do they appear along side DOLLS? What are all those buildings scattered around for? Who are those npcs that randomly show up in trials sometimes? We dont even have the most basic of information for world building outside what we were told before ngs even released. In essence the core game feels like a rush job, while they are milking players with their hands out for our wallets at seemingly every waken moment.

@@Viridriell PSO2 NGS is pretty fun if you want to try it out as your secondary MMO. I play both FFXIV and PSO2 at the same time but I ended up spending more time in PSO2 because of its community, graphics, nice cosmetic and emotes even though there's not much to do yet. The reason (apart from pricey cosmetic stuffs) most people are complaining about lack of expected contents and drip feed contents before winter major update is mostly because we want more reasons to stay inside the game and do more stuffs since the foundation and ambition of the game is really nice and fun but at the same time there's so many things to be improve. I would recommend people to try it out for a bit since it is free anyway and if there's not much stuffs to do, they can come back later in winter update. I doubt SEGA will be able to do a big overhaul/update like SE did with FFXIV ARR but they will be able to improve upon the basic foundation and become a better game like No Man's Sky.

There's a huge difference in following player feedback specifically to fuel the driving force of your game compared to understanding and comprehending player feedback to make proper improvements to your game. SEGA isn't paying attention worth a shit about what it's playerbase is saying, and the constant memes being tweeted out by the Twitter doesn't instill much faith in a company when players are facing problem after problem (not just a lack of content lol). The reason I think people are so on ass with this game isn't because of the lack of content (although that is a huge factor), but because of all the QoL issues and systematic issues that aren't being addressed, whilst continuously shoving horrendous microtransactions down our throats. There's no romanticizing just poor business practice... that's just what it is.

While you are correct in stating they showed what the plan was via their roadmap(which was changed on multiple occasions), using how they roled out PSO2 as a defence is laughable. They made alot of mistakes during that time and admitted to it, yet they repeated them again. Repeating the same actions or in this case mistakes over and over expecting a different outcome is the very definition of insanity. They then ask their customers why they don't want to spend money anymore and ignore the feedback. They instead provide poor excuses as to why, like we are idiots and say thank you for your patience and understanding. I spent hundreds on PSO2 last year and this year. Most like myself wouldnt spend a dime on NGS because Sega are not listening and/or willing to change like only their opinions matter similar to one sided dictorial relationship. Now here you are telling viewers to "just stop romanticizing PSO2" we knew the relationship was bad and one sided so its their own fault, effectivly blaming us is quite frankly disappointing hence my rant back at you.

PSO2 was an amazing game, sure it had its flaws, but you could easily put it over 1,000 hours and still have goals to work towards and things to do. The hub base world made it easy to hop on for as long as you wanted with friends, run a bunch of different quests and feel like you accomplished something. NGS on the other hand, you basically have nothing other than grinding classes to cap in 3 zones and the odd UQ with multiplayer incentives being near non-existent , they don't really compare.

@@Bryophyta Which is fair however 3 problems with that line of thinking 1) they should have learned from their previous game, 2) they have absolutely nothing in the roadmap giving hope that there will be some quest diversity, 3) if NG's launch being bare bones was inevitable they should have at least continued to actively support Base with seasonal events, login campaigns and mission pass until it had more content. Plenty of MMOs launch all the time, I can't recall one that has launched in the past few years were you can not only max in a day or 2 but have a complete lack of diversions (non-combat stuff to do). To use the similar content roadmap as an excuse is just bad and SEGA has clearly not made it any better with the clear focus on monetization. Between the awful SG scratch implementation, that survey about monetization, the lack of a way for f2p players to get access to the shop, lack of a way to grind, the AC Scratches every god damned week and now this Sonic collaboration event, it's obvious they've prioritized monetization.

I could ramble and go on about a bunch of stuff about the game community sega etc but the biggest thing I wanna highlight from your video is the comment about focusing on player feedback. while yes, you're correct that ONLY listening to player feedback will result badly sometimes, but the biggest thing for lackluster or failing games/products is to listen to feedback. CoD for years tried using advanced movement and by the third game the sales were so bad and the player outcry was so strong they finally listened and kept players on the ground, but then there was outcry for 3 lane generic maps and the tiring lackluster class customization that resulted in you only having your main gun a perk or 2 and attatchments. They listened to the outcry and feedback more and then bounced back complete 180 in player enjoyment and community perspective with the modern warfare remake warzone and cold war. They listened to player feedback found a new winning formula and are now gonna continue listening to the players and staying on these tracks. A more recent example would also be blizzard, we all know the situation with them how they blatantly ignore the feedback, but since they're not dealing with lawsuits controversy and mass players exiting WoW that they had to break their lazy traditional patching method and rush the 9.1.5 patch to change and do EVERYTHING that the players have been asking for and even now, they're going to remove aoe damage caps which wasn't originally in the 9.1.5 announcement and was something the players asked for again more after. However, the biggest example of what player feedback can do, is FFXIV. I don't even have to say anything for that we all know. TL;DR: listening to players too much for a game that has no problems and trying to hard to appeal is bad, listening to players for a game that has extensive problems and questionable decisions will never be a bad thing and, right now PSO2 has some of the biggest questionable decisions

I don't think the majority folks are being unreasonable. Sega released a MMO-style game in 2021. But they did so, using the style, rollout and format of a successful game that released years prior that they also made. And it didn't work. You know what other video game and company did that and it didn't work out? Final Fantasy XIV 1.0. And I don't trust Sega to turn it around like Square-Enix did. Even if you're telling someone that you're doing to do something bad or outdated, doesn't make it ok or acceptable. On top of that, I don't see too many people comparing the speed of released content in NGS to PSO2 classic. They're comparing it to other games in the genre or of the same style (Genshin, FFXIV) and both of those games launched with more content than PSO2: NGS had. So as someone who defends PSO2:NGS as much as he can... I can't cut Sega any slack with this. They should know better. And if they knew content was going to be this slow coming out (or that the game wasn't going to have much to begin with), why not launch the game in a Open Beta state, so that fans know the game isn't ready to go? That it's going to take them more time to get to an acceptable level of content? Or, how about all the released content get slowed down to the level of released gameplay content? Like the cosmetics? Even with there being different teams working on different content, it doesn't look good when AC scratches are the only thing being updated and advertised on a short schedule but absolutely nothing else is. Not to mention the monetization NGS currently has is worse than PSO2 classic. I'm not willing to let Sega slide on this, not when the pattern is so obvious. And whether folks agree or not, I hope they stay vocal so that Sega has to listen and respond.

Not sure if it's romanticizing if also players who are new to PSO2 franchise starting with NGS can see that the launch state is pretty much a barebones beta. The whole 8 years worth of content condensed into 1 year so this content rollout is acceptable as it's the pace of OG PSO2 JP content rollout is a very strange argument to me since as a player starting with NGS my points of comparison would be Guild Wars 2, Cabal Online, Flyff and other MMOs I played which launched with much more content. If there's not enough content on release, there's not enough content, it is what it is. I think Bless Unleashed which had its' own bag of problems being able to retain a higher % of players than NGS speaks for itself. Other elements that add fuel to the fire imo would be how aggressively this game is being monetized for the state its' in, as well as the pitiful campaign rewards. It feels like players' are being spat on while at the same time being extorted for money. A community can only thrive if the company nurtures it too. Hard to keep community positive when your last survey was the equivalent of "why aren't you spending more money?". I don't even play FF14 but simple glance at the community, the respect between devs and the playerbase, how the game director Yoshi-P is being respected and heralded, speaks volumes. Heck I watched some interviews with the man and can't help but respect him too. I think roadmap schedule is good, it'll allow players to do other things and hopefully keep NGS in mind to come back to when the big content drops. However a roadmap is just a roadmap and is subject to change, as it already has with the delayed mag evolution share system. Vice versa too if something is done early and implemented early, then it's a nice surprise too. But I've been doing some research and apparently Mr. Hmzk, the guy who almost killed base PSO2 with ep5 is currently director for NGS and now that I have played base PSO2 for the SG ticket rewards and done base PSO2 mining defense and Buster quests, I can see similarities and reuse of technologies. I'll just say that with the current director at the helm, I'm keeping my expectations to a minimum until they swap him out for someone else.

The issue with NGS is not that PSO2 "spoiled us", but that there isn't even hard content in the game (aside from the somewhat challenge rig quest). Gigantix was the closest we got, but they didn't take the time for a proper solution and now is just more mindless content. Make my gear worth something by end game. Give us hard tier UQ, reuse the cocoons for dungeons, give us a Tier 3 combat zone.
@megalith3 жыл бұрын
Disagree with your thoughts here. Yes. There are people who tend to view PSO2 with rose colored glasses. However, the issues with SEGA go far beyond that. In Hiro's interview, they acknowledged that in Global at least, people still play Base PSO2 because of the short time that we have with the game. I think Hiro oversimplified that answer because I believe new players and returnees wanted to start or catch up on base PSO2 before going to NGS. The problem is, the final major patch for Base PSO2 was lacking. They even nerfed some important things that are needed for progressing in the game or have made them completely unobtainable. Not to mention, they removed things that made Base PSO2 memorable. We no longer have concerts. I started playing Base PSO2 on JP from scratch a month ago. I would say that the experience I am getting on that server is much better compared to Global in terms of progression. It's not perfect, Triggers in JP are locked behind Treasure shops only. Sage Crests for getting Rivalate Key is very hard to get. You're time gated by the DQ Medal shop exchange. However at least, Weapon Badges help give you a good late game item to use in order to farm for end game items. Even though there are still some downsides, in general you will get more access in JP when gunning for an absolute end game gear because they have PSO2es where they can acquire capsules that can no longer be obtained through Base PSO2. In Global, you can only dream about getting an 8 slot CRAG gear setup because whoopdeedoo, you need Mission Badges for it. So once again, SEGA is not free of fault here. In fact, their actions are completely indefensible. They removed things without even asking for the player's feedback(Scheduled UQs). The typical bullshit PR answer given by Hiro in the interview pretty much confirms the theory that SEGA removed the scheduled UQs because they wanted players to stay logged into the game as much as possible in order to catch the random Urgent Quests. They wanted to use bullshit data to pitch to their investors. Kinda like them saying NGS is doing really good if they base on registered account information instead of actual logged in players.

I've said this even before the roadmap for NGS came out: PSO2 Global Release spoiled us. SEGA was essentially releasing about a decade's worth of content within a one-year period which influenced the expectations of everyone to have in regards to content. Then again, games like FFXIV, where the Lv cap was at 50, had two post-game dungeons, a raid, and post-game versions of the three Primals, also played a factor. Personally, I have few complains with NGS. Could there be more content? Certainly. Could there have been more to do? God yes! But it's not the worst thing in the world. As someone who works while playing two other MMOs (DCUO and FFXIV) and as an admitted alt-holic, I'm glad there's a game where I don't have to log in and spend hours on every day. And it's not like we won't get anything that wasn't announced on the roadmap. Nobody expected side stories, but we got one (Could it be longer? Yes, but that's another topic).

There are more problems than the lack of content. QoL changes haven’t even happened. So many things still feel like it’s a 10 year old game and hasn’t been brought into the 21st century. One example is when we lock onto an enemy you can’t rotate your camera. The amount of CPU it uses is unreal is another example as well as some menus are still annoying to navigate compared to other games. I also believe that it’s tie to base PSO2 was a mistake. You have to note if they are making the game entirely seperate you would take away most stuff players has bought and have in base pso2 for instances cosmetics and costumes and etc. If they did that with global where content rolled out for an entire year sega would take the piss of whales on there and same for JP playerbase, this would also mean JP players losing out items, cosmetics and more costumes since JP has had tons of collabs in the past like miku collab, fate collab and etc. That is if I assume what you are saying allowing us to transfer all of our data to the game seperately where players can still keep their stuff like accesories, costumes, basewear, innerwear, outerwear and etc

My biggest issue with NGS is just the way SEGA is handling this. Yes they told us about the level of content we were getting but at the same time I don't think we should find the way the game is being handled post launch acceptable. Major updates every 6 months is not going to sustain a live service game, especially when content can be chewed through so quickly. Plus the feeling we are being drowned in scratches makes the monetization feel like the priority. Most of us do understand the fact that the teams behind the scratches are different from the content team but when some of the monthly updates are more about what scratches are coming than what content is in the pipeline has begun to make players feel like they're only wallets and not actual consumers of a game product. On top of this the second ever event in the game is already a reskin of the first and that's a bad sign.

I spend ALL my time in it. I just wish it was a little less than 90% lobby camping. I am having fun. I love my alliance. I make my own gameplay, while also getting in my 2-3 hours of combat a day. However, I'm scared of PSO's future. I don't expect much. I just wish it didn't feel like we're the last few survivors all holed up in b50 or b1 because the game lost most of its player base. That's when petty drama really starts.

There was an assumption that SEGA had more launch content because most games don't reveal everything before launch. No one thought that any game would launch with so little content, unless it were an early access title which to be honest is what NGS feels like. I feel like SEGA should have done a better job to address and dispel these rumors. I play FFXIV & I remember when they announced the Viera race & then everyone got upset because they were female only. FFXIV: ARR had solved the problem ffxiv 1.0s missing genders for certain races so from the communities perspective it was unthinkable that they would release a race with only gender. The FFXIV made a huge mistake by ignoring the community & not telling everyone that Viera would be female only during the reveal. Instead they let the community make their own assumption & got a lot of flak for it.

The problem I have with New Genesis is that they forgot to do the initial content drop with the game's release. It's like lighting up a campfire planning to drop logs every 2 hours, but not dropping anything in the beginning. Did they really think whatever had been available at that moment would be enough to last for 6 MONTHS? Come on ...

I was deep in FF14 when base PSO2 released here stateside, so I didn't play it on release. I was even a little late getting to NGS. I really enjoy NGS and my friends and I are even staying busy doing our own goofy stuff while we wait for content. The big thing that I wish I could change right now is the fact that I didn't know about the story completion campaign in base PSO2 until a couple days before it ended. So I only made it through three chapters and missed out on the other weapon glass for the last three chapters. I wish they would have kept that campaign going a little longer.

Been playing since PSO1 so I know what they are capable of and this ain't it. They did the same thing back in jp PSU vs US. Drip feed content. Huge content droughts. This is not something new from SEGA. My frustration comes from where the focus is clearly at and where it is not. Clearly the focus right now is pumping out as many AC/SG scratches as possible and rehashed content. Don't get me wrong I love character customization but anyone with eyes can see this is their focus. I get it they are a company and they need money cool but don't be greedy and not put some of that money back in the game. You aren't Genshin Impact. Chill on the greed. SG scratches are a blatant scam and anti-customer. You are literally trying to scam people. c'mon now. Do we even need to mention the "event"? You call it an "event". I call it laziness. which it clearly is. They changed the element of a previous event and called it a day. If this isn't the epitome of laziness idk what is so no they will get zero credit for me on this "event" Recolored weapon skin rewards? c'mon man....just freaking lazy. Not even trying. But if you enjoy running rehashed/recolored content you do you. Again, i been played PSO1, PSO BB, PSP, PSU, PSO2, & now NGS. So i know what SEGA can do, what they have done in the past, and what they are doing now. And while i am not surprised about the content drought as mentioned before they did the same in PSU, the sheer laziness and instead focusing on syphoning out as much money from us as possible is not a good look. I only log on to lobby grind with some folks these days because these UQs and "event" are straight trash! Braver sucked!. PSO2 Braver is wayyy better. Bouncer looking a little sketch too from the preview ngl.

I'm gonna critique this video point by point to clarify my position. 1. Of course hindsight is 20/20 we didn't know the full extent of the content. Now that we do, people aren't happy and rightfully so because if the customer isn't happy, there is no game. 2. No; Sega wasn't straight forward about the shop and the lack of meseta F2P players would recieve. They also lied about the sg scratch tickets which they only apologized for after being called out. The base game being accessible is also sus as many people on consoles and pcs can't adjust their ui windows making it hard to see what the heck your doing which Sega also lied about. Base is pretty much a skeleton crew project now. These are pretty serious issues to not be transparent about. 3. If Sega knew players were gonna be in limbo, why release the ac scratch tickets? Possible abuse of good will? 4. The event being the only addition is an example of just how lazy they were and the new event just proves that their both lazy and greedy, locking PURPOSEFULLY behind a $100 paywall, items they knew people would be interested in. 5. This is my point; they knew the game wasn't ready and they released it anyways and if you know anything about Japanese games being released super early, you'd know they don't USUALLY make it very far. People aren't romanticizing, their giving legitimate criticism and Sega hasn't been very responsive. Instead they placate like they did with their recent "meseta fix". Besides; have you looked at the player count? It's dropping everyday aside from the few new players who trickle in....not a good sign. That's why I stopped playing and probably won't return for a very LONG while. Guarantee it takes them at least 2yrs to get up to par and by then it will be too late.😑

What is the intent of the current endgame loop? that's the sticking point, I understand there is future content but what are you really suppose to do in the meantime for endgame content, it needs to be structured as well. I really miss having an UQ calendar because you can forward knowledge of what UQ and plan for it accordingly, like currently in PSO2 there is a chance of Twisted with Hatred but it requires organization. Post lvl 20 grinding is poor due to the xp reduction you get farming in lvl 15 zones only UQ offer reasonable xp.

Compared to other top MMO's this game is pathetic especially on release. This game will not make it tbh, but me personally I was gonna wait a year to see what's what. There are too many aspects of this game that can't be defended at least rn.
@retromastery70103 жыл бұрын
"This game will not make it tbh" Honestly my dude... neither you, Krono or I can reliably predict what the future holds, so let's not make any kind of early assumptions like these, especially not when all we have to work with right now are our own personal perspectives and feelings on this. "me personally I was gonna wait a year to see what's what." It's probably best to follow your own first advice on this one because A LOT of people make fools of themselves when all of their initial doomsaying ends up being irrational emotion-filled garbage at the end, not saying it'll happen but it tend to happen WAY more often than not, so let's not take the risk of making fools of ourselves.
@ToshiCOE3 жыл бұрын
@@retromastery7010 how am I making a fool of myself? By giving my opinion? I played base pso2 all the way from xbox release to new genesis release. The fact that the game is f2p gives everyone the opportunity to wait and see, which is why I said I'll give it a year. Since I know very well for base pso2 release on xbox it was years of content smashed into a year release. I'm not expecting the game to be on that level but in comparison to everything else that's out right now NGS is really lack luster. It was overhyped upon initial release and that's just the sad truth, evidence is in the decline of players. It's an ambitious game for sure . But the main point of a MMO is to keep your players entertained and the game is just no longer doing that from what I can gather.
@ToshiCOE3 жыл бұрын
@@retromastery7010 I honestly do hope the game gets better and can succeed, granted I don't know how much of a player base a game really needs to keep it afloat. But if the player base keeps declining I don't see how it will make it. Even though the game is f2p there are a lot of players that support it by buying scratches, without the support from them how can things still run smoothly?
@retromastery70103 жыл бұрын
@@ToshiCOE sorry if I didn't get my point across correctly, when i said making fools of ourselves, I meant IN THE FUTURE, not right now, right now your concerns are justified, I just wouldn't go to the extremes that some people are currently going to right now, not including you of course.

@@retromastery7010 not a lot of games, especially MMOs, recover from the kind of population numbers we are seeing. especially when there are no plans to speed up the content drip. people know that they are going to get another aelio region level batch of content 6 months after release.. and another 6 months after that? and with this level of INTENSE whale milking inbetween? its not enough. nobody is going to come back to this game for that. sega needs to change their plans, frontload some of this content, cook up some dungeons or SOMETHING to stop the bleeding, but as we have seen they have no intention to. it's going to be a 6 month content cycle for at least a year after one of the weakest launches in MMO history.

(This is a month late) This video comes off as you're dismissing people's valid criticisms although I don't think that's the intention. I do think you're taking a more laid back approach which is fair, but at the same time it's like you're dismissing valid criticisms due to the flaws and behaviors that the gaming community displays (such as criticizing without an actual solution or "romanticizing" things a bit too far which is true in some cases along with a sense of entitlement that goes too far sometimes). What's got under my skin is the lack of communication that Sega had up until the most recent headline stream. I wasn't as fussed about the content myself. I've been going through people's comments and criticisms and I agree with a good portion of them. This video might come off as a bad take because it runs counter to alot of what the community feedback has been, but I get what you're saying and the point you're trying to get across.
@solblackguy3 жыл бұрын
The new headline doesn't mean shit after the damage they already did with knecapping PSO2 at the peak of its popularity. We could all still be playing PSO2 for another year if they didn't announce NGS *right when we just got PSO2.* Sega can't let something good linger without burning their house down without fear of it catching fire. Sega is going to have to earn people's trust and earn by actually doing instead of shoving out a few words of comfort while they still stick to the same plan of adding 2 weeks of content every 6 months. Endwalker is going to murder this game and Sega deserves it for shitting the bed with another IP.
@protoman1113 жыл бұрын
@@solblackguy Tbf, the game was out for a year. Wouldn't say it was peak of popularity when we had 4k concurrent players (on steam anyway) just before NGS dropped. The game was slowing down with no signs of a surge in players even with the content drop we got with Ep6 Although anecdotal, I only logged into the game to do Divides and farm until I got my end game stuff and did not ever finish that (after playing for a year consistently). Yes NGS was a shit show, but the new headline has done more to instill a since of confidence in people in the last 5 months than anything else. We also were "kneecapped" from the start with some content we didn't see when pso2 dropped for the global audience due to licensing stuff (and reasons) such as the Odin fight from FFXIV

Go back on releasing frequent scratches and you will just have a whole other group of angry people-the ones that are actually keeping this game alive. My only real complaint was with the story. It was basically just a prologue. I was expecting a story size on par with the updates we got in base. That said it’s a very minor complaint. I can’t wait for the mission pass update, I’m sure that will bring many people back to premium status-including myself.

Even though these games are now crazy successful and racking MILLIONS in some cases Legit, This is exactly why I simply don't bother being actively part of any kind of gaming communities anymore... Because they ALL turn out this way, no matter what the circumstances are, they all turn into this type of negativity-filled doomsaying wasteland, 95% of which were just people overreacting out of irrational fears...

Back in old base pso2, you'd see people complain about how shit that game was every-single-day. "Classes are imbalanced, contents are recycled, tired of the new EQ after doing it once, too much grinding, nothing to do, lobby simulator, need to fix this, fix that....etc etc". I guess everyone forgot about it and only remember the good memories once they have a new thing to complain about. (this is from the JP side, btw, maybe GL was different because 8 years of contents packed in 1, but that was not the natural state of the game) 1 year is still within the honeymoon phase, and GL has 8 times the contents so its an even better honeymoon, they ended it on a high note before they became jaded and weary with the game. GL never had to experience the frustration that JP went through all those 8 years of constant problems. Now, I'm not defending NGS as it has major problems, yes. Lacking features and contents, no shop pass or UQ schedule, greedy monetization...etc. But base pso2 isn't much better. I'm surprised people actually think base pso2 had more "contents", of course an 8 years old game have more than a 3 months old game. But what about "relevant contents"? The contents that actually matters? Only 2 of the newest EQ and 1 repeatable quest were relevant at any point in the game, everything else were forgotten and pointless except story but you'd have already done story anyway unless you are new to the game. I'm actually surprised seeing how many people are glorifying base pso2 right now, since that's quite different from their attitude before NGS launched. Am I the only one who remembers the constant bashing and negativity back in old pso2 days? or is it that GL is just different, because you guys have not experienced months of dry, recycled contents or class balance that took years to fix and still ended up badly? Anyway, the constant negativity toward the game does feed into more negativity that inflate over time. As much as i agree about the flaws of NGS, it is getting a little out of hand. Though once again when i remembered base pso2 back in the day i guess it's fine since it's just the same thing all over again.

why do all the content creators want you to forget about pso2 and stop thinking about pso2??!?!? pso2 when when i was having the most fun, whe didnt even have features pos2 had for several months after release of NGS, dont gaslight us players because we know when we were having fun and that was in base pso2 and for about 5 minutes in NGS... ngs should of been something to improve upon base pos2 but instead it feels like a direct downgrade...

We actually are getting content, but dress-up content can't keep an action rpg interesting if the only rpg content we have is repetitive farming the same way every day. Instead of the scratches launching as oftem as they do they could be mixing it up with new quests that could be added to a quest counter. Oh and the UQ schedule would help a lot, I don't have any interest in logging in just to afk hoping I get the UQ I want.

I seen many who compare it to genshin when that has way worst issue than this in my opinion. The lack of content on that on top of resins issue lasted for quite awhile before they trying to fix it which took several updates. They has some mini event which only last at most 2-3 hrs and no point to even play coop for it. Just give it some time for it to be improve.
