In fact, I recently went for a bra fitting and discovered what I needed to do to make some of my current bras fit me better. I also bought some new ones that really offer me comfort. I am not particularly fond of bra shopping.

I worked at Victoria's Secret years ago. As the most mature member of the staff (read oldest), many women specifically chose me to fit them. There is no need to be uncomfortable in a bra, but you do need to be fit for a bra. A fitting ensures that you look your best and that the bra is comfortable and flattering to you/your figure.

I like to wear comfortable block heels of at least 2 inches inches high most days. The extra height makes me feel more confident and look better. (I’ve never been able to tolerate 3 inches or higher). Many influencers are pushing sneakers with dresses and skirts, which I wear most days, but I just don’t like the look on me, age 63. Hi Gemma. Happy to say I don't do any of these but only keeping a bra for less than a year, oh no no no 😂, what a waste & how expensive too. I have bras that I've had for years and they're fine, only M&S ones too. Buy a bra that fits you on the loosest hooks and then if the elastic gives you have the other two sets of hooks to tighten! Glad I’m not the only one wearing old bras! I have 15-20 year old clothes, too! Jeans, shirts, sweaters - if they’re in good condition, fit well, and have classic or traditional style - why should I get rid of them after X years? I would just have to go looking for duplicates!

Of course bra makers tell us to replace them every 6-12 months, that way they will sell more. I have bras that are 10 years old. Wash them on gentle, air dry, and when they stretch, use the hooks further from the end of the closure. That’s what they are for!

That was exactly my first though! I’ve had my bras forever. Still good quality, look great and yes, simply adjust the back closures for fluctuations in weight.

Another great video. Your first point, regarding lingerie, is truly the basis of classy dressing. For wearing trousers or slim fit skirts, I often will size up in underpants specifically to avoid the dreaded VPL. I’m not fond of the obvious nipple look or overly embellished or textured bras, so I tend towards a smooth cup with light padding. With those foundations (pun intended) I know my outfit will look classy. But to each her own! 😊

Great video! I've also learned the hard lesson of not buying clothing that is for my "dream self" or who I thought I might become, rather than my present lifestyle. Once I figured out my style, I buy in that category. I find it so much easier & fun to get dressed now.

Good points , but do what works for your lifestyle at present . Many years ago , I went from retail full time while showing horses on the side to no more retail & being a farm manager - pro equestrian full time . No more dresses & heels ! Donated my retail , dress , clothes for women in need of these type items to begin their careers . Then expanded my work wardrobe for the four seasons of barn chores & additional required custom made outfits for horse showing . Lifestyles change & at times , hard reevaluation is needed . ( Yes , I kept a few classic pieces for church , etc. Some life events just don't allow for jeans 'n boots . 😀 ) Hope you are happy w/ where you are & who you are at this point in your life no matter what you wear . Sometimes a great smile , yoga pants , sneakers , & " Life Is Good " tees are just right ! 🥰

Yeah... I'm guilty...keeping undergarments (bras) for too long. My body is constantly changing according to the cool and warm seasons. A 5-7 pound difference, up or down, means that bras don't fit or sit well under my clothes. Thank you for putting this on my radar screen.

Right to the point. Quick. Informative. Hit the nail on the head when it comes to things you don’t usually think about, from undergarments to hair to wearing for today. I like the tip of shopping in different stores. Buy what fits you currently (so difficult when you really like something). Personally, for the first time in my life, I don’t enjoy getting dressed. I just turned 60 and my entire body changed so I’ve been dressing for comfort and wearing “uniforms” as you mentioned. Spring/Summer: I have a lot of maxi dresses and pull-on wide beachy pants. Fall/winter: I have a ton of leggings (straight leg, bootcut, solid, print, solid with side piping or pattern) with tunics and boots (switches from riding and tall boots to ankle booties with block heel). I’d like to minimize my wardrobe so I only have things I love and fit me well. I’m afraid it will look like I’m always wearing the same thing. My lifestyle: my office is casual. I go to happy hours and dinners on weeknights. On the weekends I do a variety of things from concerts (outdoor in summer, indoor in winter), brunch, shopping and errands, dancing at clubs, carnivals, movies, bowling, etc. I’d like to start dating too. I can use your help. Can you recommend some of your videos like these one I can watch that would help? I hope you can reply. Thank you!

Shapewear ..... Biggest issue is that it is there to smooth out your line and not to make you two sizes smaller. Buy a realistic size! It should slip on relatively easy .... If you are desperately wriggling into it then it is too small! And I also remember going into an elderly relatives wardrobe after her death. It was full of beautiful items that were saved for special. Some of the Chanel 5 perfume had sat in the drawer for 40 years and was ruined. Love it? Wear it! My Grandmother always said .... "Dress like you are about to meet the man of your dreams!" . .... She was right!
