Lying on my back with knees bent and tilting pelvis upward has been my best remedy for piriformis syndrome. I've had it since March of this year. I'm finally getting better.

Hey! Awesome. Knowing this- how could you compound the effect of this to heal faster? Perhaps optimize the movement prescription?

My legs are the same length. My left foot collapsed 22mm. When I strapped a sandal to my shew, I had immediate improvement. Still much pain in the thoracic. Thanks Charlie

If she is walking in an improper form and feeling no pain, then she is compensating by changing her gait form to avoid the pain. Then saying not feeling pain during walking is not important is wrong if she is showing as incorrect walking form. But if her gait form is correct and she is not feeling any pain, then yes no need for PT to look into the walking form since it is already correct.

Depends. If this is permanent, it’s bad. If it’s temporary until healing progresses, it’s what she should do.

@mrpentium what's your definition of temporary?? If 1 or 2 days, then fine or a week or more. It is bad. Hence, it is important to fix walking gait because it can lead to other issues that are not even related to the original problem. I am speaking from experience.

@ Depends. I agree with you. I am trying to eliminate the gait mods. It’s difficult. My wife reminds me because after a few months it get to feel quasi normal. I’d say at least until the pain drops to a 5 or so. Trying to walk normally with pain more than that it’s just not feasible

Define “improper” form as opposed to “correct” form. Therein lies your answer 👍
