Have my late wife's iPhone 7 and it still has the original battery in it and it still works. Yes, it does not hold the charge it did a few years ago, (it does drain fairly quick now) but it still charges and works. No, it's not used as a phone anymore and it gets very hot if I do use it for more than 10 minutes. (playing games)

Have you tried to upgrade your battery lately? I did and Apple is very resistant and so are the authorised repair places. They do everything to get out of changing your battery even if you offer to pay them ( even though I have Apple care)

My nephew works at a store & it's a authorized apple repair. He HATES repairing iPhones, because of the special screws & how many different screwdrivers you gotta use. Apple don't make it, as simple as people think.

What about screen protectors? I know the Ceramic Shield is good, but I work in a factory and the added layer of protection is much appreciated. I use Shellrus’ screen protector. It’s very pricy, but it’s JUST like the iPhone’s glass. Touch, oleophobic, hydrophobic, no crazy glare, no distortion, and ACTUAL 9H hardness (It’s ACTUAL lab grown sapphire crystal). It’s been on my iPhone 15 Pro Max since day 2, not even a scuff on it. Paired it up with Phone Rebels’ case, not as nice as a case-less iPhone, but it has survived some pretty serious drops without a scratch, or scuff. Wish I could say the same for my Apple Watch Ultra, the titanium is scuffed up in several places and I put a small scratch in the face the other day, almost made it a year though!

Having your iPhone opened up is sketchy. Sometimes it results in issues with the water proofing seal. Best to get a wired external battery to extend your battery life.

The honorary Apple Store here, (3rd party store)won’t replace a battery unless the battery health is 50% or lower. So it’s not that easy to replace. Would have to go to the Apple Store in a different county

I will never stop upgrading for battery because almost every other feature is minor to me. Still rocking 13PM from pre-order on 84% battery health. Waiting on the 17 Pro Max to see if the battery gonna increase battery life further. Only upgrading my iphone every 4yrs

I love my iPhone 13 Pro Max and there isn’t enough changes to the 16 Pro Max to justify upgrading when I can just replace the battery on my current phone and use it for another year. While there isn’t an Apple store in my area of Wisconsin, we have Apple authorized repair shops who will replace the battery.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max battery health is 84% It tends to overheat more frequently when in use. But I’ll ride it till iPhone 17. They should have offered 2TB of storage. I’m skipping iPhone 16.

For IPhone, using 14 Pro Max - noticed battery life is now down to 92%. I know to replace it if you don't have AppleCare+ is $100 but even when you have MagSafe, it's a lifesaver. I even have a Tesla vehicle that I purchased Magbak and charges my phone while on the road and even from Magbak, they sell MagSafe IPhone charge stands along with Apple watch and AirPod MagSafe charging as well.

The suggestions to get a mag safe power bank instead of a new phone for better battery makes no sense. The whole point of getting a new phone for better battery life is so I don’t have to charge it so often. Carrying a MagSafe power bank doesn’t change that it just makes me carry excess weight to charge my phone when it dies really quick because it’s battery health is very low

You have to think of your phone battery as a consumable, like your car battery or tires on your car. You won't buy a new car only because your current car needs new tires. Just plan on replacing your phone battery every two or three years if you plan to keep your phone several years, they all degrade over time

I picked up a 5,000 mah ugreen MagSafe power bank recently for £15 on Amazon, it’s been amazing so far. My 13 Pro Max still lasts fine but for extra long days it is useful, especially when I’ve been navigating on hikes and if the charger port got wet it doesn’t matter.

I have a 10,000mAh Samsung battery bank. It has 1 USB-C port for charging the battery, and 2 USB-A ports for charging other devices from it. So I can charge my iPhone, Pixel, iPad, Magic Mouse, shaver, mirror and stuff like that from it. Not my MacBook though, and I haven't tried it on my hair straighteners. The specific model I have is probably long-since discontinued, but I'm sure they still do something similar, probably with slightly better battery density. I have a Belkin magsafe monitor mount that can also be folded out to act as a stand for my iPhone.

Slim magsafe chargers for 20$ @5000mAh were a revelation when I found them on Aliexpress - a very neat solution to be used when I'm in the fields, though wireless charging generates lots of heat, which is not good for the battery health. Keeping it cool while charging is the best thing you can do for your battery to last. I'm keeping it cool, and my 13Pro's battery has 91% health indicated while I'm using it quite heavily, >100% capacity consumed each day for 2,7 years. Definitely will not be upgrading because of battery.

no one - really no one - should ever buy a case from Apple. They are overpriced and cheap quality. You can easily find plastic or silicon cases for a few bucks that have nice quality or spend some more (still less than apple) and get some high quality leather cases from well established companies. I find it funny that you "just found out about cases with adjustable kickstands" because this is normal for several years now if you don´t limit yourself to only first party accessories :D

7:17 - screen protectors are very useful. Not only they protect heavily, but also they provide oleophobic coating which can be renewed any time you want, and your fingers will never feel the loss of smoothness of your screen. Also, there's the problem of the back glass. It's freakin slippery! I can't handle my phone reliably without a case because of soapy feeling of the back glass - the phone always tries to slip out of my hand. I'm considering trying a no-case setup by sticking a special skin on the back, there are beautiful skins out there.
