Live bait is always king, but sometimes when the fish are fired up, live bait isn't needed. A fishing lure that mimics the live bait can work better especially when the bait gets eaten off the hook in a fraction of a second. Today we learned this lesson while fishing for white perch. This fish is known for its tasty meat and aggressive fight. It is the most fun to catch these fish using an ultra light rod set up, since they are smaller fish, the light line and rod make the fight much funner.

I really want to catch some white perch for eating this year. I usually just catch the yellow perch in the spots I fish, but I know they’re around. My favourite fish to catch to eat in my area is brook trout. Tastes just like salmon. I like doing a Chinese recipe where I steam the fish whole with ginger and garlic, and I make a sauce to pour on the fish boiling hot before serving. And fresh cut green onions right before pouring the sauce over.

My favorite fishing spot! Drop a bottom rig down against just about any piling on the Chesapeake Bay bridge and you will catch something. If you run a roller net across the Sandy Point boat ramp you will get more grass shrimp than you can use.

I wod love 2 fish but unfortunately in Trinidad and Tobago fishing stuff is pretty expensive, 1us 4 a hook so imagine if u ha 2 buy everything 2 fish better u buy a fish 🐠 an cook it . bless man.

Alot of people avoid plastic lures nowadays because of the effects on the eco system but that said I do use a set of 4 or 6 artificial pink shrimp 🍤 for mackerel and whiting.
