STOP using the WRONG hose clamps | 9 month UPDATE to DIY Hoses

Bad news is, the old clamps ruined the hoses as you said. Good news is, i learn from every single one of your comments and i can't thank you enough. More good news, i am going to fix my mistakes!

would be great if you could compare "wire clamp" as well the simple clamp of using just plain wire

Very cool. I’m working on a 30y old JDM that had the wire clamps in many places. Plenty were completely fine until disturbed, but were seized and could not be recovered for re-use. I do like constant tension clamps but the hose needs to be good, the right size for the fitting and the barb, or whatever also needs to be clean and good. They also won’t work in high pressure applications, may be the power steering HP side would be a no, so if there are crimped fittings or banjo bolts then this would be a red flag. Need to watch your video on shaping hoses as I’ve loads to do that are unobtainium but in reality are just shaped from standard hose as the diameters are the same on both ends. Hose picks are helpful to break the seal of the hose on the fitting, but if the fitting is severe or sharp the same hose might never seal back. A dab or something inert to the fluid is also useful on the fitting, perhaps HT Teflon grease, HT copperslip or the like is also good, but you be the judge. Finally, what are those pliers you use at ~2:53? They look handy as it’s never wise to pull on a hose. Thanks for the great content!
