I personally think reaper is like Linux for OS, Has a lot of customisability but you have to know your things through. It indeed is very powerful, especially because of the community it has behind it.. Very impressive scripting that lets you do, literally almost anything. I think people should at least give 3-4 daws a shot to get an idea of what's our there, with possibilities they wouldn't think of normally. For eg- Bitiwg has a lot of devices which are helpful with sound design Ableton has a nice workflow and some genuine godly stock plugins.. Can't speak FL, haven't used it much.. So on and so forth.

All DAWs are industry grade if you know to use them since signal processing and all other functions remain same for all DAWs. Now output engine might vary but I use GarageBand and FL Studio till date and am happy with my results.

You skipped NUENDO which will definitely come in the place before CUBASE... As Nuendo has a Lot of features which Cubase doesn't. Nuendo's Audio Resolution is 384 khz whereas it's just Half (192 khz) in Cubase.. Moreover, with a lot of exciting features, Nuendo has External Dolby Atmos rendering support which Cubase doesn't... Nuendo's Audio Resolution makes it a better post production DAW and is costlier than Cubase. I am a Nuendo 11 user and I am quite happy...😊 By the way, it's the man behind the machine.. Ramu kaka uses Cockos Reaper and so do I. Always trust Ramu kaka. On a serious note though, perfecting using a daw proficiently is an art by itself and I'd personally suggest not to go by what some "famous" Producers use. I've seen "less famous" producers have better knowledge and insight so just because you use a daw that a famous producer does will not make you next in line for that same fame.

In music Production and recording The game relies on technology and less on workstation its the hardware that the west uses which gives them an edge over the rest of the world , because algorithm can alter only so much on the contrary passing your signal through hardware circuit , be it microphones , micpreamps , compressors can always triumph over digital emulations . Fundamentally why we lack 1) because of currency conversion what costs 1000 dollars in US costs around 1 lakh in india . Thus common people would easily vouch for 20k audio interface rather than going for 5 lakh rs audio interface . Only large studios with very heavy capital or financial backing can afford those gears. 2) After all Music , songs , films etc are products that are going to get sold and it will earn money which is why everyone is going for it .If the business is not enough i.e. a studio or an engineer is not earning enough how will we afford those gears ? 3) Skills matter if there are enough clientele to appreciate those skills . Appreciation means if the clientele are ready to pay for your skills . Is when all of the above matters.
