Total agreement here. I've never been sold on the idea of needing extreme heat resistance for wheel protection. Try touching your wheels and see how "hot" they are after different types of journeys.

100%. I also top wheels once a year with Gyeon can coat and use wet coat for maintenance on wheels and grill. Couldn’t be easier. Like Yvan Lacroix says, most factory wheels are just painted and clear coated.

I had a good experience with Gyeon Rim. Really easy to install (wheels off and on a table). We'll see how long it lasts on my car that sees 5k mi/yr in the Midwest.

Do the test on a non EV. EV’s don’t use much brake pads when regenerative does most of the work. My Porsche and GR Corolla must have the most brake dust of any cars ever made.

I say put the paint coating on the left front and rear right then flip the coating to wheel for right front left back... we get an idea of where we could save a bit of funds which I am thinking the rear will not get as dirty so the wheel coating may be fine...

Anyone can still get the pro grade coatings if you know where to look… I’ve had IBT1 on my wheels for over a year and it’s holding up awesome.

Tires start melting at 365f, paint ceramic coatings resist 1200f with ease. Wheel coatings are marketing.

I also have a Model 3 P 2023, What do you do to stop the rotors from rusting after a wash? I cannot stand seeing mine rust as soon as I start drying the car. any help much appreciated

wheels are clear coated just like paint and never see a need for wheel coatings. Just marketing to sell another bottle of product from companies.

Based on your logic, you shouldn't need to put any protection on your paint either since it has a layer of clear on it???

@@thorodinson7996 LOL wow that went right over your head. It was agreeing with him there is NO need for wheel coatings. Just use the paint coating on all the exterior surfaces.

@@trifin5772almost every good coating uses PFAS. DIY Detail and many others. Ask Yvan he will tell you.
