Time is one of those things you can never get back. If you lose all your money, you can get back up and go earn more than ever. Or if you lose your health you can pull yourself out of bad habits and get back in shape. But when time's gone, it's gone. We're all allowed only so much time, which is why it's so valuable and should be respected.

"Stop watching the television. Stop listening to music all the time. Start to pay attention to your own experience. Get used to being in silence. Begin to value silence and you will seek it out. You will need it for reprieve and refreshment. Instead of constant stimulation and constant conversation, you become more watchful, more careful, more discerning. This is what it means to become conscious, aware in the moment, paying attention. Here it is so much more easy for Knowledge to speak to you, to guide you, to restrain you or to move you forward when that is necessary. You have created an opening in your mind where Knowledge can exert its influence and provide its grace and guidance for you. Here you have the power and develop the strength to set aside your preferences and to arrest your fears so that you may listen and respond. The only way you will know if you are making the right decision is by having the experience that you know. The only way you can be sure if you are making a mistake is to have the experience of all the doubt and restraint and anxiety that goes along with making a wrong decision. In other words, it is being really aware and attentive to your experience. And here you gain the ability to discern what is real from what is not, what feels correct and what does not. You do this not at the level of your wishes or your fears, but at a deeper level that is much wiser and much more powerful in these matters." A quote from a teaching from The New Message from God, entitled *Listening for Knowledge*

@@martiannella I don't think you truly get his message, he is criticizing the school system about how we are not taught enough, we are thriving to pass not striving to learn. "'turn your car into automobile university?!" his point is, by listening to audiobooks, podcast etc. while driving, you are benefiting from your automobile. you are somewhat investing your free time to learn,explore,discover etc. just by developing these habits little by little, we could be the best versions of ourselves. because our habits is what builds us, we are what we eat, what we do, what we watch, what we listen to. Invest your free time into somewhat worthy and meaningful, i guess thats what he means when he said ''Instead of just paying for your car, the car is paying you back.'' It's a win win. I'm sorry for my english but i hope you understand. Thank you for sharing your opinion tho, have a good day

@bethel3272
@bethel3272 3 жыл бұрын
@@martiannella No, i am referring to the school system. His video "What is school for?" was an eye-opener for me, i often tell that whenever i'm in a debate at school. My teachers also agree that somehow that's a sad reality, but it doesn't mean everyone. Eversince then, i didn't care for grades. After i found out i'm a visual learner, that's when i understand why some of my teacher's teaching method isn't for me. After i got home i teach myself through pictures/flashcards.. I didn't chase after grades and learning became fun for me. Thats why i aced all of my exams, although i didn't really care for my grades. I'm not saying that we're studying at school to pass, i'm saying that our school system are pressuring students to pass, instead of teaching us how to learn and genuinely have fun for learning.

"killing time" thats the entire reason youtubers ever get popular. Ya sure doesn't make us better but it gives us enjoyment in life. (bare in mind I've only watched 22 seconds so I'm writing something wrong il find out in about 3 minutes and change it) without that enjoyment. We would never get anywhere in the first place wed be so bored and become robotic. Hell without downtime there's a chance tutorials would never be as used as now to find different skill sets or to publicly broadcast information for jobs.

To further this point. Lets say everyone followed this advice before internet existed. Can you guess what would have happened? Internet would have either died out and become unused which would have setback so much scientific possiblity. Or set the internet to a work place field only. What happens to again the youtubers for fun content? Itd be so over shadowed by work. Same with prince ea or many music creators (though not all music creators as music is important. Which lets be honest would make people again so insanely stressed they would actually do worse in life because thats all they would do, work.

You guys missed the point. The main point is: you are what you eat/listen to/watch. That means there is nothing wrong in entertaining yourself, but if you entertain yourself mindlessly you will be as mindless as the content you are enjoying. For example: you should stop wasting time on lil pump's tracks and start listening to something complex in any matter. May it be jazz, or dubstep, or classic, or IDM. The more it deviates from the popular things and more tension it gives to your brain the better. And of course, you should start creating something yourself to make your perception even deeper, and to give your ideas the physical form.

@@heatr3d597 certain dubstep and such isnt much better. Again i know the meaning (not perfectly) but people could take it wrong. Thats the reason. I wrote it to show how it could be taken wrong and to poke some humour at how much would have changed if we followed it exactly as said.
