Hi I’m a parent. I appreciate the spirit behind this video. But I don’t think most of us allow screen time because we haven’t thought of other things we could be doing with our kids. We use screen time to keep our children occupied so we can use the bathroom without an audience or so we can have a minute to ourselves to think or just take a breath without hearing “Mom!” every two seconds. Yes I read and play with my kids and they help with some things around the house but for the sake of my sanity I also need to be able to do things like cook meals without my kids involved. If that means sitting on a couch like little zombies for a show or two I’m ok with that at this point.

Hi Maggie, thanks for your comment! I totally get it, I’m not sure alone time is something I get much 😂 This video lists ideas for ways to reduce screen time. It isn’t judging or attacking anyone, I am not seeking your reasons for doing things or inciting judgment. It simply shares some ideas of what to try if you want to swap some screen time out, a reductive approach. I provide brief evidence based reasons why reducing screen time can be beneficial at the start, to give context as to why it can be great to try some activity swaps, if people want to. Titles are written for SEO, in line with what people search for on YT and Google, so it can find people who might be interested. This video shares some activity ideas of what works for me, in the hope it might help someone else. Hope that helps! 😊
