Really good video. Would love to see follow up episodes with the same dog in different situations outside in public

This is a great video! 🩷 however, as much as I’ve followed these methods I’m so glad my dog barks when someone is at the door because I had left my front door unlocked by accident and some stranger walked right in to my home. My dog started barking and they got startled and took off 🩷 love her so much 🥲

He’s so cute and you can tell he really loves mom with his little paw on her foot and the lean on her leg. 🥹😍

I would love a more detailed video on corrections bc that's something I struggled with a lot with trying to train my in-laws dog. More specifically, I never knew when and what was a good way to correct the behavior, and if they were just a very smart/stubborn dog and they were the one training me lol 😭

I have 2 small dogs and they feed off each other. My second pup is an anxious dog and first dog was fine before. Can you do a video in 2 dogs with this? PLEASE!!

Same for us. We have two and one feeds off the other. Would be interested to see how we should handle same situations with more than one.

Same here also. 1 dog that's chill and never barks and one that has started demand barking. Don't want to keep getting upset about barking over everything. Love these videos.

Work on the one that instigates the barking. The other dog is a follower and mimics.

This is a video I've been waiting for! So many "reactive" videos are based around reactivity towards other dogs. My dog doesn't have that problem, so while some of the advice is helpful, we're missing the factor of having another dog there, so a lot of it isn't relevant! But barking towards people coming in? Huge issue. And so much of the advice has just been to socialize him. Fun fact, no one wants to "socialize" with my big, barking, Rottweiler! Lol! Anyway, thank you for this video! I'm going to start applying this tonight!!

Nothing works for my ALD...she's too reactive trying to protect us. She apparently doesn't make a peep when we're not home. As soon as treats are not available she ignores us.

We are having issues with barking and lots of vocalization when we leave the car. Our dog wasn’t a barker until she got older because our backyard neighbors dog barks all the time and gets so riled the dog has cut holes in the fence. If the dog isn’t out she doesn’t bark, but she always does when the other dog starts.

I’ve been watching your videos for a year now. I really wish you would address using your training methods on a small dog that has to wear a halter. We have a Maltipoo and have been advised repeatedly that they should never wear a collar because of easy trachea damage.

Thank you for this lesson. I know when ANYTHING OR ANYONE approaches or moves outside. It is an all day everyday thing. It gets tiring.😢 😢😢😢

I noticed about the 4 min mark, puppy stepped on the owners foot. What is the right response? My dog does that when we walk and see deer and he’s barking. I interpret this is fear. Should I push him off my foot?
@alexisleona16 күн бұрын
I interpret paw on foot as meaning, "don't make a move without me." So I give my dog a command in response, and then there's no need to push his foot off. If I want to stay and watch the deer, it's sit/down stay. If I want to get away from the deer, it's let's go/heel and move in the opposite direction. The command also serves as a distraction, like going to the dog bed when the doorbell rings.

So do you need to keep them on leash all the time until they are consistent on with this?

Great video! I have a 7month old toy poodle and have really started struggling with this but I have read elsewhere that she's going through a fear faze? And not to correct and just use food. Is this incorrect and I should be interrupting the behaviour and then rewarding when she's calm and better.
@beasport50515 күн бұрын
Yes dogs can experience TWO fear periods. The 2nd one occurring during adolescent stages between 6 months to over 1 year

I have a 3 year old miniature schnauzer. He is quiet in the house but on walks he barks at everyone whether they have a dog or not. It is not an aggressive bark. The breeder says he’s “ talking” and the trainer I took him to says “well……..he ‘s a schnauzer”. He may think he is just “talking” but I want to correct this . Any suggestions Would be greatly appreciated.

is a crate mandatory for training
@EmmaMontgomery-2413 күн бұрын
no but it is helpful! I got a rescue that has had bad experiences with crates, he doesn’t have to be crated while I’m not home so I’m choosing to not worry about fixing his association with the crate right now in his training process. I instead use a kuranda bed for his “spot” to use for the beginning/end of training sessions, door work etc.

Brag: I won the lottery with my husky-mutt. She absolutely doesn't bark, whine, howl, wimper or anything. She'll make a vocal noise maybe once a month and I didn't train her for this at all! But she is still fairly reactive, curious and anxious around the unknown. I wish every owner dealing with barking the best of luck!
