the beautiful thing about Vulf is that they're just session musicians who evolved together by jamming in the studio, as opposed to a group of egotistical wanna-be-rockstars who are fighting over control of their fame and fortune and image. the reason so many people are responding to them goes well beyond their musical ability alone; people recognize their authenticity because much of the music industry today is so obviously fake and manufactured. we're so used to watching the solo diva or the self-righteous rap god... we apparently forget the magic of live collaboration and real artists working together until we see it happening.

That can't be the whole story though. 'Cause there are a ton of excellent session musicians out there and most of them will never sell out Madison Square Garden. Jack Stratton might not be your stereotypical egotistical frontman but he surely has the same sort of soaring talent and magnetic persona that makes a band stick together for 10 years and reach for greatness.

what is so cool, is that they are understated. They are all great musicians who if anything, undersolo. They arent out there to show off their individual prowess, they just groove together and make it super funky. But no matter what, you cannot help always notice Joe Dart, becasue he is so badass!

thanks for that interview! it's funny how you get the feel of the guy with how he's like in the vulf videos and lives, he's probably the most expressive of them with regards to body language. and then you hear him and it feels like somehow you already know what his personnality is like. anyways gotta love him, especially if you are a bass player, he's a bassist's bassist

When I attended Cornell in Computer Science for a masters, when I came back for the second year, a bunch of students had disappeared to pursue their opportunities. I think this is pretty common at top notch institutions. My daughter went to Berklee and students peeled off all the time. When the door opens, you've got to walk through.
