Let's say about 4 special forces vehicles assigned to each county. What they would do is drive around monitoring gardai like their behaviour, their checkpoints and etc. Behaviour as in abuse of power and their attitude. Now how they would also monitor this is by bodycam which they will be made to have on throughout their shift even when taking a shit. Corruption can happen at anytime. Footage will be sent back to the special forces by end of the shift to be reviewed. If its off even for a matter of minutes they will be questioned. Any abuse of power will be a sackable offence. If caught texting or on the phone while driving will result in a fine, penalty points and put on desk duty for a month. They will undergo a written test on the law once a month and a fail will result in loss of job or retraining.

No member of the Gardai have any right under Law to stop, detain or question any person without just cause, they cannot even demand your name without just cause. And just for the record all you have to ask them is '' Have I committed an offence? if they so no , you then ask them. '' Am I being detained? if they say yes then they must point out the reason, and if they answer no, you then ask them '' Am I free to go?. If they say no then it's an illegal detention, you then ask them to call for a senior officer or just walk away, if they use force to prevent you from doing so then It's a Law suit. And never turn your camera off if a Garda asks you to, he or she may ask but you can refuse, if he or she forces you then they, the Gardai, have committed an illegal act and an assault charge can be brought against him or her. Know your rights people, you should never have to be subjected to this kind of behaviour displayed here by these two morons. Never let yourself be bullied or harassed by people like these two. I've had many runs in with these type of Gardai in my 30 years of work and I've never been wrong. Know the Law, know your rights.

Firstly, under Irish law, the Garda don't need a reason to stop you, secondly as a foreign national, he wouldn't be entitled to certain rights that an Irish citizen would, however as I've already mentioned, the Garda don't need an excuse to stop people, but they definitely don't need one for a foreign national. Also, if he's here under asylum seeker a status etc, by law he's required to carry a passport at all times, and must obide by our laws and the directions of Gardaí.
