Nicely made DIY series harness. Btw, around 8:24, even though it's only a short time, charging 300mAh batteries at 2.8A seems like pushing it. That's almost 10C charge rate, while most manufacturers afaik advise not to go over 5C, which in this case would be 1.5A charge current. And even that might be pushing it for these small batteries, which are always the highest quality.

Hi Andy, we're thinking quite the same. I use the Fractal Engineering board with a jumper to vary between 1S - 6S and run all the cells through the iSDT FD-100. Takes about 10min to bring down to 3.8V. One question though.. if I was to use a 1S Parallel board, what is the safest maximum voltage differences between each battery? For example: for charging 6S(s) in parallel, each LiPo pack must not be more than 0.6V apart, for 4S, it's 0.4V apart max, 2S = 0.2V. Would 1S(s) mean each battery must be 0.1V? That would be quite impossible no? Thanks!

@@ELValenin I've used it quite a bit and I never checked the voltage. The cable is in series so it really shouldn't matter, right? The charger sees it as a 6S and just balances it like that. I don't understand something here Andy. The batteries are around 300 to 450 mah so how can you discharge/charge to storage at say 4 or 5 amp? @AndyRCchannel4 жыл бұрын
as I say you can discharge or charge at a lower rate, but when people tell me they just fly the packs down you will be pulling at least 2 amps in a hover and up to 10 amps if you give it some throttle. Either way iv been doing this for a while now and its better than leaving them discharged or fully charged but you can do 1c if you like. The problem is when you have charged 30 batteries or more, even at 1c its gonna take some time. if you watch the fast discharge or charge it only ever reaches 2.5 amps because its discharged them quicker than it could ramp up to 5 amps.

I've built the 6s harness (seen it somewhere else and like you didn't have a good bulk storage charging solution). However I've only been using it with the same capacity and indeed brand of LiPos for fear of setting fire to something! Its interesting that you are using a mix of capacities and advice on this isn't something I've been able to find. I guess the only issue is that you are potentially charging at greater than 1C if you set the charge current for the highest capacity battery and have some with lower mAh - right? And I guess we are talking (in my case with 260 and 300mAh batteries) about a 0.04A difference in charge rate. Rounding error really?
